Part 5

*After practice*

It was a long day of practice like every day, but Liz still decided to hang out with Rei.

"Rei?" She asked.

"Yes, Liz?"

"So, since we were going to hang out today, where do you want to go?"

"Rei..? Are you okay?"

Rei jumped back in surprise and blinked. "Oh, haha. I just zoned out." Her eyes were still stuck staring at Liz.

Liz immediately looked away and panicked. "I don't think I can do this. I'm just going to Winter's h-"

"Liz, wait!" Rei grabbed onto her wrist while Liz tried to run away.

"Rei.."

"Liz, please. I want to hang out with you today." Rei begged.

"Why? You know I don't have much time for this.." She checked her watch.

"Just-"

"Rei! I can't today. Can't you just accept that?" Liz snapped at her.

"You said that yesterday. Come on, Liz. This will be the best date ever." Rei moaned.

"Date?" Liz was flustered, but not disappointed.

"I don't mean like that.."

"Fine. Just this once." Liz pushed Rei's hand away from her wrist.

"Thank you." Rei blushed visibly. "I promise, it will be worth it in the end."

"Bet." Liz scoffed. "I'd rather be hanging out with Winter right now."

"Sure you would.."

"Okay okay.." Liz turned to the sky, where fireworks shattered into a thousand sparks.

"It's so loud.." Rei complained, covering her ears. "Can't we go inside?"

"No, it's beautiful out here." She said, removing Rei's hand from her ear slowly.

Rei's heart beat fast.

She couldn't help her feelings for Liz this time, she noticed them.

Liz dragged Rei amongst the big crowd.

Rei had butterflies in her stomach.

This was the perfect 'date' idea.

"Rei, look!" Liz pointed to a firework that made a heart-filled explosion.

"Wow. It reminds me of you." Rei smiled and bit her lip because she was so nervous.

"Rei?" Liz felt worried. "If you're scared we can go back in. I understand."

"No, I love it." Rei stopped her.

The fireworks were too loud they could barely hear each other's words.

"You do?" Liz grinned.

"I really do, Liz. Thank you."

"Of course!"

"So, Liz.." Rei reached her hand out and stepped closer.

"Yes.." Rei could hear her heavy breathing.

"I have to tell you something.." Rei admitted. "I have been thinking of this for a while now, and-"

"Me too, Rei. I have something to tell you." Liz's eyes sparkled.

"Your eyes are so beautiful, I love them." Rei laughed.

Liz giggled back.

As the next firework went off, Liz and Rei got closer together, Rei's hand on Liz.

"I love you, Liz."

"I love you too."

"I don't mean in a friend type of way, I mean-" Rei was interrupted as she was talking.

"Me too. I love you, Rei.."

Liz said before pushing her soft lips onto hers.
