"Okay everyone,settle down"said Mr.Danes.
Overall,the class was good,but I kept staring at Chase.His eyes were still as blue as the ocean,but there was some new kind of spark in them.His blonde,wavy hair was shining in the sunlight.I'd missed him so much,but he didn't recognize me.Weird.Very weird."Hey" murmured a sweet voice."You okay?"I realized it was Chase.He'd caught me staring again.Great.
"Uh yeah just thinking about the assignment."I said with a half-smile,pointing at the paper on my desk.
He smiled back and leaned against his,and I noticed his cheek turned a bit pink.

Class was dismissed and I rushed to my locker to get my book,then headed to the cafeteria.I was reading Emma,by Jane Austen(my favorite author).
I sat down and carried on from where I left last time."Is this seat taken?"asked a red-haired girl,looking nervous.
I marked the page I was on my book and told her to suit herself."thanks" she replied."No problem,I'm Leah by the way"
"Maddison"
We kept on eating,until she broke the silence"I suppose you like reading"
"Yeah"I answered"All the time.You?"
"Well...I love music and I have a piano at home so I pratice sometimes"
"That's amazing.Do you have any favorite artist?"Yeah,Taylor Swift"
I was delighted"My dear Maddison,I think we're gonna be best friends"

It turns out Maddie and I(yeah,we already nicknamed each other) have a lot more in common than we thought.She likes to read,but she's not as obsessed as I am.Plus she was more into cheesy,fluffy rom-coms while I liked dystopian,mystery and classics.We went on talking and lost track of time so we didn't even hear the bell ring,and now,I was late for my first maths class of the year.Shit.Mrs.Heron was going to kill me.
As I ran through the hallways,I suddenly bumped into someone.We both fell on the ground"Ouch!Watch where you're goin-"Aaaand it was Chase.I'd completely forgotten about him"Sorry"he said"Oh,it's you"
"Yeah"I didn't have time for this.I couldn't allow myself to be more late.I quickly started picking up my stuff"Let me help you" said Chase before our fingers touched.Shit.Now really wasn't the moment for some slow-mo romantic moment.I got up and ran to class.I yelled "thank you"before going in,and unfortunately,Mrs.Heron was waiting for me,arms crossed,and a devilish look on her face.I looked around and saw a grinning Joss.That bitch."Miss Magnus,late on your first day."That meant a week detention.I felt a slight brush on my shoulder, and turned around to see Chase(how are the odds that we had maths class together too?)"Oh well,new student,I guess you will have to follow Miss Magnus"

"I'm Leah.Leah Magnus"I already knew that.Fuck.It was so hard to pretend to not remember her,when all I could think about for the past years was Lili.She was more beautiful than ever,with her long brown hair attached in a ponytail,and her utterly cute face I wish I could cup with my hands.God I had missed her.I wish I could hug her right now,tell her that I kept my promise,that I was back,that I was never going to leave her again, but they wouldn't like that.
Later,I caught her staring at me,like she was evaluating me or something. Her expression was priceless,she looked so beautiful when confused.I felt my cheeks turn pink.Shit.
At lunch,I saw her sitting alone,reading a book.I always thought she looked gorgeous while reading.Then,this girl came along, and soon,they were laughing and talking non-stop.Oh, to be her"Chase?"Umm?"I turned to Jess and Jocelyn to find out that they were on a full make-out session."Whatcha looking at?"Before I could answer,his girlfriend said"Don't tell me you're staring at that bitch"she was pointing to Leah.
I swear to God,I would've destroyed her by now if she wasn't a girl.How dare she call Leah a bitch!
Later
Fuck,I was late to maths class and lost as hell.I took a turn and then bumped into someone"Sorry"I said.Leah.I tried to help her pick up her stuff,and our fingers touched in the process.It wasn't much but my heart started doing rodeo anyway.I noticed her maths textbook,so when she quickly stood and ran I followed her."Detention.A week."said the presumed Mrs.Heron.I guess I just ruined my first week at school buuut I was going to detention with Lili,so it was definitely worth it.
The next day,I was so nervous.I was going to be alone with the girl I loved for two hours (well there was gonna be a teacher but it doesn't count).As the bell rang,I sprinted to detention and found Leah settling down."Evening sweetheart"I said flirtlily."Don't call me that"she replied"Sit down,you two"said Mrs.Heron as she walked in the room.
"Now you shall start doing your assignments"
