Chapter 1

" Monarchstar!Monarchstar! "
A voice called, Monarchstar raised his head, blinking away sleep, what was happening? Infront of him was standing Berrysnap, one of ShadowClan's warriors, one of the warriors, which were selected by StarClan to find and bring back SkyClan, among the other four Clans.

" Berrysnap? What's wrong? " Monarchstar asked as he rose to his mitts, he titled his head. He could see his medicine cat; Rainmist sleeping, and so did her apprentice; Rootpaw.
On the far side of the hollow where they had settled for the night, Juniperfrost was curled asleep, after a day of traveling. Monarchstar nodded to his deputy, before turning to Berrysnap again, what did she need?

" I scented something, I told Juniperfrost and he said it was a stale scent of a dog. I don't know, though. " Berrysnap said, still hesitant, Monarchstar could share her hesitance, being alone within unknown land. He had felt the same, when Two-legs had invaded the Forest territories, taking cats away. Monarchstar was among them, he was trying to help Feathercloud, a ShadowClan elder, when the door of the monster had closed shut, last thing he saw, it was Swallowface's smirk .
Yet another traitor.I can't believe he would do that, we were friends.
Then he remembered, Troutwish, SkyClan's deputy once he was brought in the Clan, Troutwish never liked him, saying he never liked ' outsiders '. In the end, he had attacked Lakestar, trying to take her role, he was exiled though,for good, yet Monarchstar still wanted to sunk his claws into Troutwish's shoulders, he had killed Ravenstem! Monarchstar's mate!
She was the first cat to welcome him into the Clan after he had joined along with her littermate Juniperfrost.

" Monarchstar! " Berrysnap's voice broke him away from his thoughts, the ShadowClan she-cat was looking at him eagerly.

" I'll check it out, come along Berrysnap. " Monarchstar said and watched as Berrysnap nodded and led him further away from the hollow they had camped.
She led him through the dark pine forest, pine leaves were on the ground.

" Ow. " He heard Berrysnap saying, it was hard to see, yet he saw her pale brown and ginger coat,

" Are you okay? " He asked, eyeing the warrior

" I'm fine, I stepped on a thorn. " Berrysnap said raising her paw, a small thorn was seen.

" Get that back to Rainmist. I'll move on. " Monarchstar mewed and watched as Berrysnap limped away, Monarchstar continued walking among the pines,his senses alert, for every cracking sound, every small sound,it made him jump. He remembered one of his training sessions with Maplespot,back at WindClan, he never liked the calico she-cat, but what could he do? Finally he noticed that the sun started arising, its light dim in the forest.
I should head back.

Monarchstar, returned to the hollow , where the SkyClan warriors, along with the chosen cats. Monarchstar headed towards the place, where the elders where settled, a squirrel in his maw.
A ginger she-cat looked up to him, and smiled, Monarchstar,nodded and let go off his catch.

" LightPond, I hope StarClan is treating you well. " Monarchstar spoke to the she-cat warmly.

" They are, Monarchstar. " Lightpond said, as she purred, then looked down to the squirrel,
" It seems like a good catch. ''

" This teritorry is prey-rich. " Monarchstar said, nodding in agreement,
" I'll leave you to eat. "
He then turned, and headed towards the main clearing, he saw his clan starting to stir.
Juniperfrost stretched, and he approached him, then he sat down besides him.

" Where were you all night? " Juniperfrost asked, titling his head

" Berrysnap claimed she had scented something, I just went to check. " Monarchstar explained.There was silence

" Did you eat? "

Juniperfrost's question caught him off guard, yet he shook his head, Juniperfrost rose to his paws,went over to the place where they kept their prey, grabbed a sparrow and padded back towards him, he let go of the it, Infront of Monarchstar's paws.

" Eat, we will head off soon. " Juniperfrost said and left, heading towards some queens and elders. Monarchstar sighed as he bent down to eat, heartbeats later,he was finished. Memories flanked through his mind. WindClan, Cursedviolet, his first mate, he had made so many dreams, he hoped that they could have kits of their own at some point. Yet Two-legs came, and took everything away, along with Swallowface.

" Monarchstar. " Rainmist's gentle tone brought him back to reality, the bluish medicine cat was looking at him through a concerned gaze.

" I'm fine,Rainmist. "

" Doesn't seem like it, you've been zoning out a lot . " Rainmist said, she remained quiet before speaking again
" Have you been thinking of WindClan? Or Ravenstem? "

Monarchstar nodded,
" I have, everything that happened, being taken away from my birth Clan, joining SkyClan, Troutwish,Lakestar's troubles, Frecklekit and Cougarkit being swept away, Ravenstem's death, being chosen as deputy--all the responsibility--- "

Rainmist placed her tail gently on Monarchstar's shoulder, cutting him off,
" I know, SkyClan has suffered, you have. But I am sure that all, would wish you to start. Besides, I haven't seen Frecklekit or Cougarkit in StarClan, there is a chance they may be alive. "

" I know, but I don't think it's possible to find them. " Monarchstar spoke, his tone, a bit lower, he missed his kits and mate terribly.

" As long as we have gave faith, everything's possible. " Rainmist nodded turning to the Clan which had gathered
" I assume, we're leaving. " Rainmist said and padded towards a white tom, Rootpaw following close behind Rainmist. Monarchstar sighed and padded towards Juniperfrost,the SkyClan deputy was talking with Shellpaws, a RiverClan warrior.

" Good news Monarchstar, we should arrive tomorrow. " Juniperfrost said, turning to look at him

" Then we should head off. The earliest we start the better. " Monarchstar nodded to Shellpaws to lead the way. The gray tom nodded and started walking, Monarchstar turned to his Clan

" We're almost there. " Monarchstar called and turned to follow Shellpaws.
