Wishing Eva a Good Night, Steven sent Eva back to her room. Coming to his room, he sent Philip a 'Thank you' message. To his surprise, Philip's reply came immediately, 'Anytime' with a wink emoji at the end.
As the night passed, both Eva and Steven found it difficult to sleep. They tossed and turned in their beds, reliving the cherished moments of their confessions over and over in their minds. The anticipation and excitement of their future together lingered in their thoughts, making it hard to find peaceful rest.
The following morning, everyone gathered at the breakfast table. Steven had his first lecture scheduled for 10 AM, so Philip suggested they could leave together after breakfast. Eva entered the room, offering a cheerful 'Good morning' to everyone.
Steven looked up at her, and the two of them exchanged a shy, affectionate smile. Philip, sitting at the end of the table beside them, observed their interactions and couldn't help but chuckle. However, when his gaze fell upon the ring gracing Eva's hand, he could no longer contain his amusement.
'Steven, when are you getting married?' Philip inquired, making a valiant attempt to stifle his laughter.
Startled by the question, both Steven and Eva choked on their food. Steven looked at Philip, then at Eva, and back at Philip, his eyes wide with surprise. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Foster redirected their attention toward Philip and Steven as well.
'What do you mean?' Steven responded, genuinely puzzled. Eva blushed and inadvertently hid her hands in her lap.
Philip continued, 'I mean, Mom was wondering yesterday whom we should get you married to, weren't you, Mom?'
Mrs. Anderson, initially caught off guard by the unexpected topic, nodded and said, 'Yes, it's about time you got married, Steven. If you don't have anyone in mind, we can start looking for a suitable match.'
Steven glanced at Eva, silently seeking her permission to share their relationship with everyone. Understanding his dilemma, she placed her hands on the table, revealing her ring to him. He interpreted her actions as a sign of affirmation and smiled at her.
'Mom, I'm already in love with someone, and I intend to marry her,' Steven declared resolutely, looking directly at his mother.
A radiant smile broke across Mrs. Anderson's face. 'Who is she?' Although she already knew the answer, she was delighted that her son was finally taking the step that should have been taken long ago.
All eyes turned towards Steven, and he returned his gaze to Eva. With deep emotion, he looked into her eyes, took a deep breath, and made his heartfelt announcement: 'I love Eva, and I want to marry her.'
A profound silence fell over the table as everyone's attention shifted from Eva to Steven and back to Eva. Eva, inspired by Steven's declaration and eager to affirm her feelings, took a deep breath and declared, 'I love Steven as well, and I want to marry him too.'
Her hands trembled slightly, but she felt a wave of relief wash over her as her words hung in the air. The room was filled with the weight of their shared emotions and the knowledge that their love was now known and accepted by their families. It was a pivotal moment in their relationship, and their commitment to one another had been sealed in front of those who cared about them most.
Eva caught up in the joy of the moment and raised her hand to proudly display the ring on her finger to everyone in the room.
Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Anderson couldn't contain their excitement and erupted in screams of joy and celebration. They hugged each other tightly, wiping away tears of happiness. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Foster exchanged congratulatory smiles, sharing in the happiness of their children.
Steven and Eva were showered with warm wishes and congratulations from their delighted family members. The room resonated with the love and support of their loved ones, creating an atmosphere of immense joy and celebration as they all embraced the couple's decision to spend their lives together.
