I heard the sound of glass breaking above me and my mothers raspy voice yelling at my father. I hid under the covers afraid of what I would hear. The sound of footsteps echoed in the cement walls that covered the basement. The door slammed open and my dad's shadow lingered over me in the darkness.
"C'mon were gonna take a road trip!"
He smirked and yanked my arm dragging me out of my warm, comfortable bed. He shoved some of my things into a suitcase that was already full or his things. I could hear the pounding of the door to the basement as my arm was aching from being grabbed so tightly, my mom was locked upstairs. My dad dragged me into the garage and told me to get in the car, as soon as I stepped in my mom's scurring footsteps were running downstairs trying to catch me and my dad. She must have kicked the door down.
"Shut the bloody door!"
My dad screamed at my ear I shut the door but regret it instantly when I heard my mom lock the basest door to the garage and smash the aromatic garage door opener. She was trying to stop dad from taking me but my dad slammed on the gas and filled the garage with Carbon Monoxide. As the car made the reveing sound I hate so much, my mom's curdling screams and her constant coughing echoed the walls. My dad was laughing at her pain which made me wimper in attempt to tell him to stop, but I knew that would get me in much worse trouble. No matter how much I wanted to save my mom, I had to sit in the car and watch her on her knees coughing and screaming to her death, and there was nothing I could do about it.
My dad took his foot off the gas and put his hand over his mouth when he opened the car door. I saw him reach for the bottom of the garage door and open it. He steped in the car and drove out of garage not caring about where my mother was.
I used to remeber the times when my mom, dad and I would play catch in the yard and were happy and my mom and dad never fought or threw anything across the room at each other not caring if anyone got hurt or died in the process. Now I'm sitting in the car with my father who just murdered my mother and god knows what's going to happen to me.
