Travis POV

Finally! lunch time! Conner and I had the perfect plan to prank Katie. We had made lunch for her at my apartment. the thing is, when Katie goes to eat it, the thing will explode with a disgusting moldy black slime. i couldn't wait! Of course i felt bad getting her beautiful hair and eyes dirty...whatever.

"hand me the bag." i say to Conner who holds the lunch bag close to his chest. i roll my eyes and snatch it. its time to commence the prank. casually, i stroll toward Katie who takes a seat next to Annabeth.

"Oh, hey Katie! i made you lunch today!" i said waving the bag. Katie gave me a supspicious look.

"What did you do to it?" Katie says eyeing the bag.

"Nothing! can't i just be nice?"

"No, you can't."

"Please? i made it! i really want someone's opinion on the sandwich!"

"Then ask Conner."

"He helped me make it! that doesn't count."

"No,"

"Please?"

"No."

"Please?!"

"No!"

"Please?!?!?"

"NO!!"

"PLEASE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!!?!??!?!!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??"

"Ugh, fine! but if anything happens, i will strangle you." Katie finally said, taking the bag. she opens the bag and takes a bite....

"EEEKK! STOLL!" Katie screams getting a faceful of black gunk. wow! what a great prank! i double over laughing. i can see in the distance that Conner was trying not to fall down. Wiping away the black gunk away from her face, i can see her face... breaking into hives?

"Someone call the Ambulance!" Shouted out Katie. my smirk disappeared from my face. oh gods, Katie was having an allergic reaction! soon, Katie's face swelled up. quickly, someone in the cafeteria whipped out their phone and  called 911. i rushed over to Katie, trying to make sure she was ok. she wasn't. she was breathing kinda funny too. in a panic, i pick her up and set her on the table.

"Everyone! step away from the girl!" shouted out a voice. paramedics swarmed Katie, picking her up and carrying her to the truck.

"What's going on?" i ask a nearby paramedic.

"She was having an allergic reaction to some of the chemicals in that concoction. whatever is was, she is lucky not to have swallowed it." answered the man. after hearing that, my heart dropped to my stomach. Katie is never going to forgive me after this. she'll never like me at this rate... soon, i started chasing after the car.

"Travis! Travis!" cried Conner and the rest of my friends. i didn't stop. i followed the car all the way to the hospital. when i got there, i was panting and sweating like a dog. after 1 second, the doors in the truck bursted open, revealing many paramedics carrying Katie on a stretcher. she looked a lot better.  the gunk was off her face and the swelling wasn't as bad. but Katie passed out. she had something injected in her arm. after they disappeared in the hospital doors, i followed them. i found myself waiting in the waiting room. after 20 minutes, i ask the lady in the office about Katie.

"Um, is it ok if i go to see Katie Gardner?" i ask nervously. i really hoped she was ok. plus, i needed to apologize.

"Yes, but right now, she is sleeping. do not disturb her. she is in room 210" said the sour lady. quickly i took off to see her. after 10 minutes of searching, i found her room. i quietly crept in. when i got in, i saw a figure hunched over Katie. after a while, i eralized it was non other than Demeter, Katie's mom. it took a few minutes for Demeter to realize i was here. she was too busy stroking Katie's hair as Katie slept.

"Um, sorry i don't mean to intrude..." i whisper. Demeter's head cranes around so that i can see her. as soon as she sees me, her nose wrinkles and she purses her lips.

"Oh, its you. how dare you hurt my daughter!" Demeter hissed, not wanting to wake up Katie. i stare at Demeter, in shock, not knowing how to respond.

"I-I didn't mean to." i stammer. Demeter gave me i stern look.

"If you dare pull another stunt like that on Katie, or any of my children, i shall turn you to barley!" said Demeter before disappearing.

"Travis?" Katie said weakly, just waking up.

"Oh hey, i came by to see if you were ok.... and to apologize. i never knew that you were allergic and i am so so sorry about this and-" i start rambling.

"Its fine. really. just a little accident. thats all." katie responded, cutting me off. she gave a weak smile.

"Really?" i said. katie nodded, already fallng asleep.

"mm hmm" she said. i place my hand on hers. i wanted her to know that i cared about her and that i really lov-liked her. even though she can't hear me, my cheeks start turning red.

"Bye Katie" i whisper to her, exiting the room. now, i would have to explain the the principal why i missed the rest of my classes.
