friday lunch, sasha braus was in line at the cafeteria, looking everywhere for the two blondes who are her friends, holding up the line, but no students complained or said anything about it.

except the cafeteria lady.

"are your friends going to take long? i have a bunch of students behind you to feed" the lunch lady stabbed the weird looking food with a big spoon.

sasha had a crunchy bread and some chicken on her plate, choosing the least odd-looking food.

"huh? oh! no no! they are about to get here-.. there they are!" sasha pointed at the door.

through the door walked (y/n), swaying her hips, historia as her shadow. the first one grabbed a tray, and handed one to historia, and both of them caught up to sasha.

"i'll have a normal menu but no meat please" you spoke, eyeing the lunch lady.

"a vegetarian meal?" she raised a brow, already turning to get you the salad bowl from the refrigerator.

you sighed, placing your hands on your hips "no, i want a normal meal, no meat, did you get that?"

"uh huh" she replied, not understanding why you would want that, it was basically same as a vegetarian menu, but she served it.

historia got some food next, and then you three headed to your determined table, passing by all the other ones.

people sat with their groups, cliche groups. the jocks, the mathematicians, band kids, stoners, skaters, etcétera, none really important.

"i can't believe she asked me if i wanted a vegetarian meal, that's so absurd" you sat down, immediately opening your bottle of water.

"like, if you don't want to eat meat just don't, but don't create a whole new concept for not liking meat" sasha agreed "that's probably like a mental illness or something, not liking meat" she looked down at the delicious chicken.

on one table across the cafeteria, sat eren yeager, next to armin arlert, with mikasa ackerman in front of them both.

"so basically, if you electrocute someone while holding them underwater, it'll leave no burn marks on the body" armin nodded to himself, writing down something in a little notebook he kept to himself.

eren's eyes widened drastically "if you what?!" he turned towards his blond friend, trying to sneak a peak at that book.

armin closed it "it's just random facts eren, i'm not planning your murder" he rolled his eyes, fixing his glasses, and going back to eat "this looks really disgusting"

"tough shit armin" mikasa shrugged, as she told him not to get the weird looking purée, but he insisted on trying new things, she got the vegetarian menu.

mikasa always noticed the small things, so she gave a bit of her tomatoes and lettuce to armin, knowing that if she didn't, he would have to force himself to eat the yucky food.

she looked around the cafeteria, watching how everyone chatted away with their own friend groups. how their facial expressions changed, the different ways they ate and what they ordered.

her eyes unconsciously searched for a blondie, finding her sitting on the usual table she and her group had, for as long as mikasa could remember. the table everyone dreamed of sitting in, and nobody but them could.

the goth watched as the girl picked at her food, picking a brocoli up with her fork, chatting with her friends, and placed it down.

for the next eight minutes, mikasa watched as she did the same, but never put that brocoli inside her mouth.
