I stared at Karina in confusion.

'Yup, the portal that gets you in and out of this world.'

'How do I open that?' I ask.

'Well its simple, all you need is the key,' she told me. A realisation seemed to dawn on all of us and all hope was lost.

'You don't have the key, do you?'

'What key?'

'Well, its gold and very small, it can fit into the palm of your hand,' Felix explained. Ni-ki lit up.

'You mean this key?' he asked. The rest of us stared at him.

'Wait! Isn't that Heeseung's key? Where did you get it?' I asked.

'Well he dropped it whilst we were running so I picked it up, I planned to give it to him when we stopped but well... I got a little distracted,' he told me.

'Thank you Ni-ki!' I exclaimed, hugging him. He stepped back in shock slightly, but returned the hug, grinning childishly.

'I-I guess my forgetfulness isn't so bad,' he said, turning red.

'Now that we've got the key, what do I do?' I asked Felix and Karina.

'Now we need to summon the portal,' Felix said. I looked at him inquiringly. 'To do that you need to put a drop of your blood on the key and summon the portal in your mind.'

'Her blood?' Jungwon asked, looking concerned.

'She can't do that!' Ni-ki exclaimed.

'Do you want to be stuck here forever?' I asked. 'Jungwon, pass me that piece of bark next to you.'

He picked up the spiky wood and I grazed my arm on it, a drop of my blood running down my elbow, I grabbed the key from Ni-ki's outheld hand and let my blood run onto it. Then I closed my eyes and pictured the portal, willing it to appear before my eyes. I opened them once more. Nothing happened.

'Why isn't it working?' I asked.

'You aren't willing it enough. Think of how badly you need to escape, think of how much you need that portal,' Felix told me. I closed my eyes once more, thinking of Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon and Sunoo waiting on the other side, and of the lab that Karina and Felix had so many bad memories of. I needed  that portal. I heard gasps from around me and opened my eyes. There, right before us, was the portal. It was like a light blue hole in the darkness of this world. I looked to the others.

'We're all going to try and go in at the same time so that the portal doesn't close. As soon as I say go, you jump as fast as you can,' I told them. We all linked arms and curled up as small as we could, bracing ourselves. I took a deep breath.

'Three, two-'

'Get them!' I heard a loud, resonating voice call form behind us and turned to see a whole army of the guards that we had seen earlier.

'What the-'

'GO!' Karina yelled, and we all jumped.

I opened my eyes, my head throbbing like crazy. Light flooded my vision, blinding me. I was lying on a heap of grass with a clear blue sky above my head. Had it all been a dream? I heard a groan come from next to me and saw Jungwon in a heap on the grass next to Karina. Nope, that stuff really just happened. Karina had her hands over her eyes, as though the light was blinding her. A tear ran down her cheek and I went to her side.

'It's been years since you've seen this world, hasn't it?' I asked. She nodded, but sprung up a second later.

'We need to go, those guards are after us, they'll be here any second now,' she declared. We all got to our feet, and looked around for cover.

'There!' Jungwon shouted, pointing to a row of trees in the distance. Felix and Jungwon took one of my arms each and dragged me as we bolted towards the trees.

'They have weapons,' Ni-ki said, 'But we have speed.'

We reached the trees and each ducked behind one for shelter.

'As long as we hide we can get away without them seeing us,' Felix pointed out.

'How long can we hide for though?' Jungwon asked. Suddenly, we heard a crackle coming from a tree a few meters away. We eyed each other in panic as something landed underneath that tree with a thud.

'Jay!?' All five of us exclaimed at the same time.
