"Ameena?" Ni-ki muttered as we stared at the girl. She slowly drew her arms away from her face, revealing her arms covered in bruises. She was choking, foaming at the mouth. I hear Ni-ki whimper beside me and I took a tiny step back, shivering.
"N-Ni-ki," the girl named Ameena whispered, her dark eyes meeting his. They were lifeless, almost as though they'd had all the energy sucked out of them. "You have to run. You and the others, and your friend too," she added, eyeing me. "You must get out of this orphanage before they do to you what they did to me," she managed between chokes.
Ni-ki stared, blinking back tears, his breathing rapid. "Ameena, what happened? Who did this to you? Why are you like this? Come on! My hyungs and Sophie and I are playing Nightball in the forest. Come play with us, stop being like this!" he exclaimed, tugging at her bruised arms. She winced, choking and retracting her arm from Ni-ki's hand as the foaming worsened. Finally, with a tear streaking down her cheek, she collapsed to the floor.
"A-ameena?" Ni-ki muttered, breathing heavily. "Ameena!!!!" he screeched, grabbing onto her arms and trying to pull her up with all his might. "Wake up!!! It's not time to sleep yet! Please wake up! Miss Holloway will be mad at you for missing lessons! Please wake up!" he screamed, tears streaking down his face as he tugged at the hem of her t-shirt, suddenly looking very different from the carefree, teasing child I had met the day before. That's when I realized that despite his cool and mature appearance, Nishimura Riki was far from the cold and distant person he appears to be at first glance. He loved and appreciated those who were close to him, and as they disappeared one by one, the world around him crashed to the floor. That was the first of many losses we were going to experience on our journey together: the first brick of the seemingly never ending wall that came crashing down to the floor beneath us as we grappled with it to reach the top of the wall.

Sorry for updating a day late with a short chapter, I've just been super busy with school lately and cause its summer (which I'm currently not liking one bit) I have no energy left in me!
