Tokyo subway was never Kumi's favorite thing, especially early in the morning. It was crowded and the trains were overflowing. Everybody in such a rush, they push their way through the people. The muffled noise of footsteps mixed with businessman talking on the phone. Somewhere in the distance shouting. People stressed out and tired of life all around. So much cursed energy in such a small space. She hated it. Yet she had to walk through it every single morning. She was lucky enough to have a job that won't require a rush to work at 8am and rush back home by 5pm. She was somewhat relaxed. Although being a jujutsu sorcerer had many great risks she was greatful for it. It had some freedom to it, freedom to express yourself and live fully. Freedom that she took advantage of so many times.
With headphones on her ears and a bag on her shoulder, she made it through the worst part of the day, the subway. Cold breeze hitting her face, she took a breath of fresh air. Not thinking much of her day, she walked to her workplace, Tokyo Jujutsu High. Although she herself finished attending school, she was tied to it. Not living in the dorm anymore, she walked past it and to the main building, which was the gathering spot for every jujutsu sorcerer in the area. The building itself was huge, but the ground floor is the only thing she's seen so far. Making her way through the hallway she took her headphones off only to hear an outbreak of a fight. Still a bit faded voices came from her workroom.
-Gojo, where is my report?- Shoko's voice was noticeably irritated. "Again" Kumi thought to herself walking towards the fire.
-I forgot it.- the man said poking fun
-I'm not having it today, Satoru. Give it to me.- Shoko ordered.
-I told you, I forgot it.- he answered on the verge of breaking into laughter. The lengths this man will go just to annoy somebody were unimaginable. Kumi finally opened the door and walked in. They continued as if they didn't see her.
-I need to hand it out today. If you want problems with higher-ups go on, but I certainly don't wanna fuck around with them. - Shoko responded losing her patience and lighting another cigar, probably her 5th since the morning.
-I'm telling you I don't have it.- Gojo laughed throwing himself on the yellow sofa in the middle of the room.
-Good morning, people.- Kumi shouted not batting an eye at them, hanging her bag on the chair in the corner and seating herself by the computer.
-Morning, Kumi- Shoko sighed giving Gojo a nasty look which made him even angrier.
-I hear your day has started well.- she concluded clicking the button to start the computer and turning her chair to them.
-I feel this was sarcasm, but my day is wonderful, thank you!- white-haired man responded with a smile.
-You're going on my nerves...- Shoko whispered turning to her computer leaving Gojo to talk to himself. Oddly enough he was quiet, he kept to himself on the phone. Kumi and Shoko got some work done when his phone rang. Some annoying anime song that was of course on full blast and he waited for it to burn their ears enough before he answered it. He stood up and walked out, quite uncommon for him. That made both women to turn and share a look.
Finally a few moments of peace in the room. But it lasted no longer than a commercial break. And there he was again, swinging the door open like a diva.
-Ladies!- he shouted, they didn't bother to look. Until they heard a cough, surely not Gojo, unfamiliar to Kumi, but very familiar to Shoko. -I present to youu...- Gojo kept shouting.
-Nanami-san!- Shoko jumped from her seat almost running to the new man. Kumi just turned around looking at her friend hooking herself around this man's neck hugging him tightly. -Haven't seen you in years!- she said. The blonde man in a beige suit gave her a weak smile while politely wrapping one hand around her shoulders.
