Dad and Mom always wanted a house to call their home, so when Rebecca was only five years old, the family of three moved from an apartment in New York to an old, abandoned house in Houston.
"Daddy? Is this going to be our home now?" five year old Rebecca asked.
The little girl didn't know that her parents were doing this all for her. They wanted their baby girl to grow up with friends, a pet, and maybe in the distant future, a significant other. With all this in mind, Rebecca's father answered her question,"yes baby, this is going to be our new home. Do you like it?"
"Yes, but under one condition," little Rebecca pointed a finger toward her parents.
"And what is that?" her mother answered.
"You have to let me go to work with you...and I get to have a puppy."
"That's more than one, don't you think?"
"One and a half to be exact, mommy. I want a small puppy, just like aunt's."
"Okay, is that our deal?"
"And don't forget I get to go to work with you."
"Why would you want to do that?" Both parents looked confused to why their little girl would want to work in a pet clinic with them. Why would a girl this little make a request like this?
"Because I want to be like you guys, and I love animals soooo much that I want to work just for them, so they can be happy...like me!" little Rebecca giggled.
Both parents were surprised by her answer. Sure, they knew their daughter had a huge, helping heart, but they never knew she had the soul of an angel.
"We're gonna be just fine," they both smiled at each other and looked at their child run around the huge yard they now owned.
