"Philip, you ready?" Alexander called from downstairs. "Yep!" Philip said while racing downstairs. Alexander picked up the 9 year old boy and left the house. Philip was old enough to go with his father to his office to see what it was like to work in politics, he was also going to help his father with some paperwork.
"You are going to behave yourself, right?" And use manners?" Alexander asked while Philip nodded, he put his son down and opened the door to his office. Philip looked around while following his father, he saw kids talking to each other and of all the children (about 29), he only saw one girl. He thought she was pretty.. Stop, we are here to help. Not talk to girls. He thought to himself.
He helped his father for a few hours before he decided to find that girl. He slipped away from his father and walked off. While walking he found the girl, being pushed to the ground by 2 boys who looked to be 13. He walked over and stood in between her and the boys, "What are you doing?! Leave her alone!"
"Girls are too dumb to be here." one of the boys said, glancing at her. Philip moved in front of his glare and said, "The only dumb one is you!" He turned around and helped the girl up before continuing, "You can clearly tell that you are threatened by a girl, a younger girl at that. You know that she is smarter and this is the only way that makes you feel better about your idiocy."
They scoff and leave. "Thank you. What's your name?" the girl said to him. He bowed and took her hand, "Philip Hamilton, pleased to meet you. What's your name?" She gave him a smile and responded with, "Theodosia, Theodosia Burr."
The two didn't know it yet but this is the start of a beautiful relationship with joyous times and happiness coming.
