Alexander and Aaron were fighting over how to say, "Obedient,"
"Alex it's Oh-be-dient!" Aaron said clearly mad. "Nuhs uh! It's oh-be-diet!!!" Alexander yelled back at Aaron, Washington walks in, "Stop fighting, and have any of you seen Thomas?" He asks, "I saw him with James, why?" Aaron says, "Oh, okay, his mom was here to give him his lunch." Washington says walking out, John (Laurens) walks in, "Hi Alex and Aaron!" He said, really happy to see them, "What're yall being for Halloween?" John asks, "I'm being a vampire!" Alex says replying to John, "I'm being a werewolf." Aaron also says, "That's awesome! I'm being a ghost, but I think James is too, but that's okay!" John says, hugging Alex, "Isn't Mr. Washington taking us trick or treating ? Our parents don't pick us up until 9:30." Aaron said sitting on the ground, Thomas runs in, "Guys! James is really really sick! He threw up!" Thomas said in a panicked tone, "Go tell Mr. Washington!" John said running into the room where James was, making sure he was okay, James was throwing up in a bucket, Thomas ran to Mr. Washington's office, "Mr. Washington! James is throwing up!" Thomas exclaimed, Washington got up from his chair and went into the room James was in and helped him and stuff y'know, they thought it was magic.
James got picked up a few minutes later by his Dad, Thomas of course - was upset but soon got over it. Alexander and Aaron were outside in the rain 'dueling.' Their (water) guns had red soda in it and John was counting to 10 reciting the "10 Duel Commandments."
"Number nine! Look him in the eye aim no higher - summon all the currage you require!" John giggled. At 10 Alexander sprayed Aaron with the water gun, "Alex-!" Aaron shouted, Washington rushed outside and when he saw what was happening he just chuckled to himself, "Alexander that's enough." Washington said taking the water guns, "Noo!-" Alexander whined, "It's nap time." Washington said leading them into the play area - Eliza was sitting on her cot, talking to Peggy, her sister. Thomas was hugging his knees, unable to sleep. He was concerned for James, he looks up at Washington and says, "Is James okay?.." the worry in his voice was obvious. Washington nodded, he handed Aaron a towel to dry off with, Angelica was sitting on her own cot, painting her nails. Alexander's cot was next to Eliza, he's had a crush on her since forever, "Hi Alexander!" Eliza waved at him, smiling gently, "Hi Eliza..." his cheeks turned red, he buries his head in his knees. "Ooouuuhh~ Alex got a crushhh!" Thomas teased, Aaron giggled, Eliza ignored Thomas because the kid could be annoying.
Mrs. Washington (Martha), was in the kitchen putting up plastic plates, George (King) was in there helping.
Samuel was there too, he was a bit short but he managed to reach the sink. Mrs. Washington pats Samuel on the head, "How about you boys go to the play room and go take a nap with the rest? Thank you for your help." She smiled, then Samuel and George ran off to the play room. After a few minutes of them talking and joking around quietly they fell asleep.
Lafayette walks in, sitting down on his cot, holding his stuffed baguette. Alexander climbs over his cot to Lafayette breaking contact with Eliza, "Hi Laf!" He smiled, sitting next to Lafayette. "Bonjour!" Lafayette said, with his normal cheery voice, "I thought you weren't coming today?" Alexander asked, "I wasn't but I changed my mind, mon ami. So my mom dropped me ouf." Lafayette said, his French accent clearly there. "Oh," Alex mumbled, "Well okay then!" He said, adjusting his position to get comfortable. Mr. Washington was cleaning up, pacing from the kitchen back to the play room over again.
Alexander sat there watching him walk in and out of the room, quietly.
It was about 7:00 PM, the sun was slowly setting, some parents had come to get some of their kids, some were still at work. Mr Washington had agreed to take a few of the children trick or treating. Everyone got their costumes out of the dress up chest and did hair and "makeup" aka glitter. "Okay everyone, use the buddy system and NEVER be by yourself." Mr. Washington reminded them. The group nodded and went on their merry way. A few hours later, the group met up at the big light post on the street corner. "I got the best candy!!" Alexander bickered, which was met by Jefferson rolling his eyes. "I got a rock..." James Madison said quietly, with only Eliza hearing. She gave him a few pieces of her candy, making him smile. "Okay everyone, time to go back." Mr. Washington said while herding the ground back to the daycare. While walking, Eliza noticed a trail of candy falling from Alexander's bag. She picked them up and put them into her bag and once she was done, she looked around and realized she was all alone. "hello..?" the little girl mumbled.
Washington got everyone inside and closed the door. Angelica looked around, "WHERE'S ELIZA?!" Panic started among the kids, with Alexander running back out looking for her, the rest of the group following. Eliza was sitting on the curb, tapping her feet a bit and hugging herself to stay warm. Alexander saw her and runned up behind her, giving her the biggest hug, "ELIZA!!!" Eliza hugged back and smiled, "Hi! You found me!" She kissed his cheek, making the little boy pink, and led him over to the group. They all went home safely.
