I was in that house for far too long, a year I think, I don't remember much, just that my brother split his head open and my sister face planted into a bunch of nails. Eventually they just gave me back to the foster home, I don't know why..after that everything was a blur, my entire life up untill now just seemed like I was sleeping or something. Anyways, I went through three other foster homes, I don't remember much about them, just that some were good and others were not. Not one day went by that I didn't think of marie. Eventually I was adopted into a decent family, I believe I was seven around this time. I had a brother in this family, however we will be getting into this later. My life was pretty much meaningless untill she came along. Her name was Hope. She popped up in my life around 10th grade. I found her sitting on the corner of the sidewalk, sitting on the drain. I was going to meet up with my friend John and I saw her from across the street. I will never forget the way my heart fluttered when I talked to her, the way she smiled..everything was just pure bliss. We dated for a few months, but I fell in love with her. We eventually broke up because her parents ended up hating me because they found out me and her were having sex, hurray for teen hormones destroying lives and what not..anyways we kept in contact throughout the years, we never stopped talking. I remember that she loved it when I placed both my hand on her face and kissed her. I remember when her mom took her phone and I saw her at school, we ran to each other and hugged. She ended up dating someone, and falling in love with him. We still talked, well did up untill now. I told her I'd die for her. She hates me now, because it hurts her to talk to me. I guess this is when the actual story starts.

It Started off like every other day, everything was normal..well so I thought. I woke up and looked at my phone, half expecting there to be a message from Hope. However, there was none.
"Ugh, I don't even know why I try." I groaned while trying to crawl out of bed.
"Dude are you coming down for breakfast" my brothers voice rang from my doorway.
"Yeah, hold on Matt. I said as I finally flopped out of bed. " my brothers only two years younger than me but he is just as wise. As I walked to my door I stopped at the mirror that was hanging on my wall. "What has my life come to" I asked my self sadly. I shook my head and walked downstairs, Matt was already at the table waiting. Our parents were already at work they leave around 6 or 7. "Did you hear what happened to the president the other day?" Matt asked while I grabbed a bowl from the cabinet. "No, do i want to?" I said looking at him. He knows I don't dawdle in politics. "He was caught trying to sell nukes to another country" He said "bummer" I replied while digging through the fridge for milk" dude wheres the milk?" I asked. "Try your left" he said. "Why cant humans be peaceful, why do we have to sell weapons, all they do is hurt other humans. Why can't we live together peacefully?" he asked with a glint of hurt in his eyes.I sighed as I poured my cereal "You know why, Matt. No matter what there is going to be that one person who ruins it for everyone, that's what comes with the knowledge of good and evil, there's always going to be that one guy who just wants to do evil" I said shoving my mouth full of cinnamon toast crunch. "Yeah I guess you're right" He said sadly, looking out the window to his left. Suddenly His facial features changed from one that was sad to one that is ultimately confused and worried. "What is it?" I asked confused myself. He sat there staring out the window for a few more seconds before replying. "Aduo, Come here, I think it's happened.."He said with a hint of concern in his voice. "You can't mean.." my voice trailed off..I was to scared to move. By It he meant the rapture, we both knew for a while that the end of the world was coming, we just didn't know it was now. The signs were there and everything. I got up and walked over to where he was sitting to see what he was seeing."where is everybody?" I asked looking around for any sign of life. There were cars everywhere, on the grass and in the road. Some of them seemed like they were still running, others were off. One of the cars was upside down on the sidewalk with what seemed to be a red smear under it. I did not want to know what that was. I jumped up from the window and ran across the room. "Where are you going?" Matt asked. I didn't reply but kept running. I got to the garage Door and practically threw it open. I saw exactly what I thought I would. Both cars were still there. "Aduo, what do we do now?" Matt asked me looking as scared as I've ever seen him. " well we need to turn on the news and find out what's going on." I said closing the garage door. I closed my eyes and inhaled, this was a lot to take in. My parents were gone, they were not dead, they were just gone. I couldn't cry because I knew they were in Heaven, I knew they were happy. I walked over to the living room and plopped down on the couch next to my brother to find out how many people were left on this Earth. "Coming to you live from eyewitness news 45. Reports of mass disappearances from around the world are coming in. There are massive casualties resulting from planes and automobiles crashing into civilians after their drivers and pilots just simply disappeared. What is going on? A lot of people are saying its the second coming of Jesus, some are saying its the work of some type of super weapon.." the news anchors voice drifted off when I stopped paying attention. I was thinking about her, Hope, I was wondering if she was okay or not. She only lived five minutes away from me. I couldn't remember if parents were christians or not. "Matt, we need to go, I need to see her" I said. I stood up and started walking towards the garage. " huh, wait what?" he said shocked. "Nothing follow me" I said as I grabbed the keys off the rack, i don't know why I didn't notice them before. As we got into my dads jeep wrangler i pressed the button to open the garage. As the garage was opening I was thinking about what to say or what to do when I got to her house. "Are you okay?" Matt asked me from the passenger seat. I looked at him and shook my head. I threw the jeep in reverse and backed out of the garage. This was it. This was the beginning of the end, and I wasn't going to go through it without making sure she made it too. I thought of us, of all the things me and her had. The love between us. Nothing else matters right now, well other than my brother. I have to make sure she's okay. I put the vehicle in drive and started down the road. Everything looked so surreal, I had to weave my way in between cars and had to advert my eyes from the car that was flipped on top of the person. I caught my brother staring at it though. I eventually got to her house. I turned car off a few feet from her house and sat in the car for a few minutes. "Are you sure you want to do this? I mean she did break your heart". Matt said to me while patting my back. "Yeah I have to man.." I said while taking a deep breath. I opened the car door and started walking towards her house. I heard the passenger door close behind me. I looked and saw matt following me. He just looked at me and nodded his head. I walked up to her door and looked through the small window off to the side of the door. Her parents weren't there, the cars were gone. I already checked. "It looks like no one is home" I said. I went to go knock on the door and that's when I realized it was open a crack. I pushed the door open all the way and ran inside. "Aduo wait!" Matt yelled after me. I ignored him and ran to her kitchen "Hope!" I screamed her name. Oh please let her be okay. That's when I heard a noise to the left of me. I looked and saw what looked like a baseball bat coming straight for my face. I ducked under it, i reached up and grabbed the bat and twisted it out of my attackers grasp. I was about to slam it into their face until I realized who it was. "Hope! You're okay! Where is everyone?" I said smiling. She looked at me with eyes that seemed out of focus and she started to sway. "Aduo..." she managed to mumble before she passed out. I grabbed her right before she hit the floor." are you okay? I heard something? Is she okay?"matt came running up frantically."yeah everything's fine, shes just exhausted...I hope.." I said. I picked her up and brought her to her couch. I laid her down gently and covered her up. Matt brought some chairs over for us to sit on. I sat there watching her sleep for a ew minutes. I sighed and got up. "Where are you going?" matt asked. "Outside" I replied. I walked out the back door and pulled out my cigarettes. I lit one up and took a long drag.  I needed to figure out where to go from here. Whose with her, wheres her boyfriend?. I needed answers, but Id have to wait till she woke up.
