I awoke to the sun hitting my eye's. It's morning already I groaned as I rolled over to look at the time. I sat up with a deep sigh and threw my hair into a messy bun. I brushed my teeth and grabbed my vape and went outside to the porch. Mornin Lucas, I said with a smile. Morning rose. He said as he gave me a half smile. Did you have fun last night? I asked with a knowing smirk. I did you know boss I think your the only person who can make a day of hell become a day full of joy. He said as he put out his cigarette. I know but hey at least it was worth the wait. I said. True that. he said, I've been thinking. I said as I turned to him, about what boss? He asked. I was thinking that you deserve a break for a bit take a week off and recuperate. I said as I hit my vape. Boss I can't just take a leave you may need me. He said. I know but you lost a family member, that takes a toll how bout this we go together let you say your goodbyes then we get his funeral set up ill stand by your side through your time of need this week is all about you. I said, boss you don't have to do that for me you got a lot on your plate as it is. He said, true but I don't mind at all. I said as we headed inside away from the cold. Fine but if work calls we immediately head out. He said determination evident in his voice. Deal. I said as we shook hands. I headed to the kitchen and grabbed my keys as I headed to the garage. I honked the horn as I started the car signaling to Lucas that we gotta go. Alright alright I'm coming jeez. He said as he rolled his eyes and hopped in the car. I sped out the driveway and headed to the hospital.
