"Ow Liz! I said don't burn me!" Lizzie is currently putting soft curls into my hair, if that's what you want to call it. To me it feels more like she is putting permanent scars into my head.
When we got home she made me tell her everything that happend and then she got mad at me for not telling her sooner what happened. So I think me sitting here in pain for the past hour is her way of getting revenge.
"Oh hush you big baby! It barely even touched you!" She says, rolling her eyes and grabbing some more hair to wrap around the wand.
"Yeah that's what you have said the last twenty times, but my scalp would beg to differ." She sticks her tongue out at me and I do it right back. We act like five year olds. Oh the joys of friendship.
My phone vibrates on my desk and before I'm able to reach it, Lizzie snatches the phone up and looks at it.
"Hey! Give that to me!" I say reaching to grab it from her but she is to fast for me and turns away.
"Ooh its David!" she says turning around and wiggling her eyebrows at me. I roll my eyes.
"Just give me the phone Liz!" I hold my hand out waiting for her to put it in my hand. Her eyebrows furrow looking at my screen.
"You haven't told him where you live!?" I shake my head at her. "What did you expect him to just know where your house is at? You are just ridiculous." She shakes her head at me. I grab the phone out of her hand.
"What! I forgot to! And he should have asked earlier!" I saw throwing my hands in the air.
"Just get over and let me do your makeup now!" I reluctantly make my way back over to the chair and sit down.
"Don't go too dark with the makeup Liz!" I say practically begging here because she likes to go for really dramatic looks when doing other peoples' makeup.
"Yeah yeah! I know how you like it!" She says shuffling through both her and I's makeup. She walks back over and stands in front of me. "Okay. Close your eyes and don't open them until I say to."
About fifteen minutes later with Lizzie's horrible singing I hear the music turn off that she was singing along to.
"Okay, I'm done. You can look now!" She says in a sing song voice.
I get up and walk into my bathroom and look in the mirror. I didn't look that different. My skin looked flawless and rosy. My eyes had winged eyeliner along with subtle brown eye shadows. My lips had a nude pink color on.
"I really like what you did Lizzie!" I say giving her a high five, and she squeals.
"Yay! I thought you would like it. I tried to keep it simple enough, but added the winged eyeliner for a little edge." She says with a proud look on her face. "You look so grown up!" She does a fake sob and brings her finger down the side of her face, mimicking a tear drop.
"You are such a drama queen!" I shake my head. I turn around and I head towards my closet. Lizzie places an imaginary crown on her head.
"If the crown fits! And it does!" I role my eyes and turn back to my open closet, and let out a loud sigh as I just stare at the clothes.
"You haven't chosen an outfit either, have you?" Lizzie's voice travels over to my side and she looks in with me.
"You are so unprepared! Why don't you already have an outfit planned?" She says scolding me.
"Because I don't know where we are going! And if you haven't noticed I have a nosy brother who comes into my room constantly!" I gesture towards the door.
"Excuses excuses! I will just choose an outfit for you. Did he give you any hints on what to wear?" She asks while shuffling through my clothes.
"All he said was to wear something cute." I say throwing my hands up and sitting down on my bed.
"Oh wow! That is so helpful!" She shakes her head and continues going through my clothes.
"Okay we will keep it dressy and casual. How about this dress?" She pulls out a white dress with purple flowers on it. She hands it to me and walks back to the closet.
"And we can pair it with..." She trails off as she continues to go through my clothes. She pulls out a black cardigan and throws it at me. And then she bends down and looks at my shoes. I hold up the dress and she picks out a pair of tan strappy booties.
"Wow you wor-" The doorbell downstairs rings cutting me off. I feel my eyes bulge out of my head. "Oh my gosh! I'm not ready yet!"
"Calm down Kyla! I will go answer the door while you hurry up and get dressed!" The door bell rings again and she grabs a necklace off of my desk and throws it at me and then runs out of my bedroom door slamming it behind her.
I throw on the clothes and grab the necklace that Lizzie threw at me. I look at myself in the mirror. The gold necklace she picked out goes with the shoes nicely. I hear David and Lizzie talking down stairs. Well I guess I kept him waiting long enough.
I open the door and slowly walk down the stairs. I reach the end and see them sitting in the living room. Lizzie sees me and smiles at me and stands up. David then stands up and turns to looks at me. He is wearing dark jeans and a long sleeve white button down. His blonde hair is combed to the side. He looks so good! By the look he looks at me, I don't look half bad either. I stand in front of him and smirk up at him.
"Well look at what we have here. The player knows how to clean up." I cross my arms over my chest.
"So your pleased with what you see then sweetheart?"
"I never said that!" The smirk leaves my face as one appears on his. I feel my cheeks starting to heat up.
"Well your blush would sure beg to differ." He pokes at my cheek and I swat his hand away.
"Awe Kyla you are so cute! You totally are blushing!" Lizzie gushes.
"Shut up Lizzie!" I say throwing her a glare. "You are supposed to be on my side!"
"But I want to take a picture of you both! Let me grab my phone from upstairs!" She runs up the stairs before I can protest.
"Hurry David! Let's go!" I grab his hand and dart towards the door. I grab my purse before closing the door. "Bye Lizzie!" And I slam the door shut.
We walk down the drive way towards his car, and he opens the passenger door for me. I realize I am still holding his hand and quickly let go and jump into his Jeep. He closes the door behind me and I can see him shaking his head. He runs around the car and gets in.
"If you wanted to hold my hand so bad, all you had to do was ask." He smiles at me. His dimples appear on his cheeks. I feel my face heat up again. He leans in closer and moves his head to the side. What is he doing! I close my eyes.
"You look beautiful tonight. Buckle up sweet pea." He whispers in my ear. I open my eyes and see him smirking at me. I hurry and look away. My hand reaches to the side and finds the seat belt and I stretch it over me and here it click and lock. I look up at David and he starts chuckling and he starts the car and we drive down the street.
"You look disappointed, Kyla. Is something wrong?" I look over at him and see him, of course, smirking as he drives.
What did I get myself into?
