Can this day go by any slower? I'm currently sitting in Math class and all I can think about is my date with David. We have ten minutes of class left and one more hour left. I haven't been paying attention at all so I know if I look at the screen I won't know whats going on. Well there will be an interesting story on why I didn't do my homework.

"Kyla, are you okay?" A hand waves in front of my face and I jump back in my desk. "Whoa! Someone is out of it!"

I roll my eyes while fixing my shirt. I look to my left and see familiar green eyes and brown hair swept to the side. It's one of the guys from the team named Nick. He hangs out with my friends from time to time, but we went to middle school together so we know each other well.

"So are you going to tell me what's up? You didn't take any notes all hour, and judging by how startled you were, you must be worried about something." I look over at his blank sheet of paper.

"Oh you're one to talk, Nick. You are such a hypocrite!" I start laughing and grab his notebook which he tries but fails to block me from. "Yes, I should stride to be more like you."

"Okay, okay! But hey at least I'm aware of my surroundings!" I must have looked confused because he motioned around us and at the door with people coming in the room. Wow I must really be out of it. Did the bell actually ring? The people that were in our period aren't in here anymore.

"Wow! Someone really wasn't paying attention!" He starts laughing at me while putting his notebook into his bag. He stands up and turns towards me chuckling. "Come on. I will walk you to your next class."

"You don't have-" I'm cut off by his hand and he grabs my bag.

"No it's fine! I wont to hear your excuse." He chuckles as he swings my bag over his other shoulder. "Come on let's go."

I managed to get away from Nick by telling him that I have a test Science and I stayed up studying so I didn't get that much sleep. I'm not the best liar, but he bought it.... at least I think he did. That should be good enough to keep him off my back. And at least he wont be reporting to Kyle that I'm going on a date. He would lose it. First he would hunt down David and murder him then he would hunt me down murder me, resurrect, and murder me again. A shiver goes down my spine at the thought. He has a bad temper and he is very protective over me. Sometimes it's too overwhelming. I know he means good but he can go over board, and it can feel a little suffocating.

I pull out my phone and I see that I have a text from Kyle.

"Hey I'm going to hangout w/ some of the guys from the team and then we might hit up some party. Do you want to come?"

"Thanks, but I actually made plans already to hangout with Lizzie tonight :("

On any other night I would probably say yes unless I was with Lizzie or with some of our other friends. It is kind of weird that I won't be going to hangout with him tonight and he won't actually know where I am at. And I am also lying to him, which I never do. I Hope he doesn't think that this is strange that I'm not coming to hangout with him.

I can feel my hands already starting to get sweaty while I'm holding my phone. I mentally pray for him to not question me, and then my phone buzzes.

"You can bring Lizzie along and just meet us at the party."

Crap. What do I say? I have to hurry and reply. He can see that I've read it since we both have IPhones. Curse our parents for keeping us up with the latest technology.

"We were just planning to stay home, eat ice cream, and watch the notebook... Lol you know.. girl things!"

I wait a minute before setting my phone down on my desk, well I should at least attempt to write down some notes so I'm not struggling with the homework later. Pshh who am I kidding! I mean I'm going to do it, but I'm probably going to half ass it when I do it.
