Tensions have never been higher right now. I feel like we're being looked at through a microscope. The entirety of the police department is here, tearing the house apart.
Laurel, Michaela, Wes, Connor and I all stood on the porch trying not to freak out.
"They don't know anything." Wes let out.
"Really? 'Cause last I heard, we were all being interviewed by the police." Michaela gritted through a fake smile. That's another thing I am terrified for.
"Because we work at her house. We need to stay calm and stick to the story." I said, mainly to keep myself calm.
"How do we know she's not setting us up, you know? That she knows everything and she's using these interviews to get one of us to confess. I mean, how do we know that the campus cop didn't call her last night and say-" Connor went on but stopped when a cop came down the stairs. When the cop was gone, he continued. "What if one of us cracks, hmm, goes to the police and tries to get a lesser charge?"
"Then the rest of us will pin everything on that person. It's five against one, so don't even try it." Laurel stepped up and said to him.
He looked over to see Annalise coming up the driveway. "Mommy's home."
"What are you all doing out here?" She asked us.
"The police asked us to wait outside. We didn't want to get in their way, which reminds me, are we gonna be excused from the final exam now that we're involved in the investigation?" Michaela asked. That is the dumbest question she could've asked in that moment.
"Not a chance, Ms. Pratt. Exam's still on. Mr. Gibbins, my office." Annalise said to her and then Wes.
When they went inside, we all went inside. I made quick eye contact with Frank. He looked at me with nothing but concern. He mouthed "You doing okay?"
I shook my head and looked down.
As if matters couldn't get worse Mrs. Parks showed up. Frank tried to push her outside, but that obviously didn't work.
"My condolences for your husband, Annalise. He's been gone for, how long now- 15 hours?" Parks asked.
"You think this is a game?" Annalise asked.
"I think you don't like your odds in Rebecca's trial, and this is how badly you need to win, even if it means throwing your own husband under the bus. Why? Did he finally tell you he was leaving you? Is this your version of a woman scorned?" Parks said. What nerve does this woman have to barge in here and throw all of these accusations around?
"I just found out that my husband was sleeping with a young woman who was killed, and you have the audacity to come in here and mock me? Get out now, or I'll throw you out." Annalise said sternly.
"Your husband didn't kill Lila Stangard. That was Miss Sutter and Mr. O'Reilly, and I will do everything in my power to put them in jail." Parks said and went for the door. "See you in court, kids." She said to us as she left.
