Chapter-26

Jieun stood by the window, her gaze fixed on the heart-wrenching scene unfolding before her eyes. The room was enveloped in an eerie silence, broken only by the cries of the girl outside. The man, devoid of any compassion, callously dragged her away, oblivious to her pleas for mercy.

Although nari was at a distance, her tears and anguish resonated with the woman, as if nari was crying right beside her. In that moment, a profound sense of shame washed over Jieun, as she questioned her own inability to intervene and offer solace. The weight of her own pain had rendered her incapable of extending help, not just to others, but even to herself.

It was a scene filled with raw emotions, where the woman grappled with conflicting feelings of empathy and helplessness. The sight of the girl's suffering stirred a deep longing within her to protect and support those in need. Yet, the burden of her own struggles had left her feeling powerless, unable to extend a helping hand.

She placed her palm on the window slowly when she saw nari being pushed inside the car forcefully, she saw the car drove off from there but her eyes didn't leave its sight until it wasn't gone completely. She blinked slowly when she heard the door getting open, and there came her husband, her nightmare. Taehyung closed the door back without tearing his eyes apart from her and approached her with a sly smirk. "Were you watching her?". She didn't say anything, just stood there frozen due to fear but startled, blinking her eyes when Taehyung thudded his palm on the wall beside her while his other palm was resting in his pocket. "Turn around angel". She turned around slowly but avoided him by looking away as she felt his mischievous stares on herself. "You have become selfish I see". 

She fisted her palms tightly and he leaned closer to her, "She must be hating you". Jieun slowly trailed her eyes at him and he went silent for a moment watching her void eyes. Even he wasn't able to guess if she was scared or nervous.......or just emotionless. "It doesn't matter who loves me or hates me.......I don't want anything from anyone". Taehyung raised his brow but averted his eyes from her when he heard a knock on the door. "Come in". Taehyung looked back at Jieun and stood in front of her , hiding her completely behind his giant figure. Unwillingly, she clutched his suit in nervousness as his guard stepped inside but the man instantly dropped his eyes down watching his boss with his wife. He bowed and informed him without looking anywhere but the floor. 

"Mr Kim, there's something you need to know, Mr Jeon and Mr park are already waiting for you". Taehyung hummed in response with knitted brows while sealing his lips. "You can go, I'm coming". Guard quietly left the room before closing the door and Taehyung looked down at Jieun who instantly left his suit. She stiffened when Taehyung gripped her jaws, making her look at him. "But I want everything from you and you will give me, you have no choice but to obey me". He smirked watching her numb eyes but there was no fear nor any emotion like she was out of all feelings and emotions. She had changed a lot which only he noticed, she too realized herself being changed but not like him. He observed her more than her. Taehyung left her jaw slowly before taking a step away from her silently and she just stood there, falling her eyes down slowly.

Later, she heard. Footsteps getting far from her in calculative steps before it faded away with the sound of the door closed. She released the breath as the devil was finally out of her sight. She raised her face and darted her eyes at closed door and mumbled dejectedly

"I really have no choice"

Taehyung entered inside his mansion office and saw, jimin and Jungkook were already present. Jimin looked at taehyung being a little anxious causing taehyung to frown but without saying anything. Taehyung removed his suit before placing it on the back of the chair.  "Look at this news". Jimin said making taehyung avert his eyes at the TV screen, jungkook was watching news silently sitting on the couch while taehyung leaned forward standing behind the chair.
