Thank you so much for 1M, my love! I still can't believe that this series has gained such popularity. Since it happened, I want to share something about "Ephialtes."

This series was never planned and I had no intention of writing a book on it. I just uploaded a reel, maybe at the end of 2023 on Instagram. I randomly had a POV in my mind, so I decided to write it for fun. But after a day or two, that reel went viral like crazy. It doesn’t have many views and likes now since I re-uploaded it, but on my old account (which i deactivated), it was my first and most viral reel.

I received tons of DMs and comments asking me to write a FF on it, even from people who weren't into FF. They started expressing their desire to read a book on this theme. So, in my nervousness, I just gave the title of the ff in the reel without much thoughts. It was "Devil's Miserable Angel," the first title of "Ephialtes". Even after mentioning the title in the reel, I wasn’t confident that I could write it because, honestly, I had no plot or storyline in mind.

My Wattpad was flooded with requests to write this fanfiction and I gained so many followers on both Wattpad and Instagram. This only made me more nervous and panicked. I was scared about whether I could do my best because I'm not really experienced in writing dark romance and mafia stories. But I still decided to start writing, even though I was in a state of panic since I didn’t have a clear idea of how to proceed.

Initially, I intended for Ephialtes Taehyung to be a green flag, cruel but respectful but my thoughts were all over the place, so I decided to pause the writing after about five chapters. I needed some time to think. However, my Instagram was still buzzing with DMs about this fanfiction and I felt terrible about potentially disappointing my readers. So, I finally resolved to put all my energy into it. When I began writing again, I didn’t realize I was making Taehyung's character so intense which i didn't realise during "Ephialtes" (maybe I was possessed by the mafia) lol.

Anyway, as readers started discussing his character more, I delved deeper into it and researched real mafias and criminals. I was shocked to find that some aspects aligned with Taehyung's character. That’s when it clicked for me and I decided to make his character more realistic, which also helped me develop a plot and storyline. Still, I wasn’t prepared for it to gain such popularity because there are so many mafia fanfictions out there that set a high standard. I honestly thought my ff would either flop or only appeal to my existing readers.

But unexpectedly, it gained a huge amount of attention that even shook me but Fame has its ups and downs, so I faced criticism for both myself and my characters. This was my first controversial book and I wasn't experienced enough to handle such responses. In my frustration, I ended up unpublishing the entire book when I had enough. However, I quickly received numerous DMs on Instagram and Wattpad. Completing "Ephialtes" was a real challenge for me but I'm grateful for that time because I learned so much from it and I'm thankful to those who supported and encouraged me. The criticism during "Ephialtes" introduced me to a side of readers I had never encountered before and because of that, it doesn’t bother me as much now.

Even if I receive hate or my characters do, it doesn’t affect me as seriously as it used to. I can't say I don't feel anything at all but I've grown accustomed to it. Sometimes, it just feels pointless to argue over something that isn’t real. Another interesting fact is that Jungkook's love story and past weren’t originally included in the story but when I was writing that chapter, it just came to my mind so I wrote it without much thoughts. Thanks to that, I developed a major plot point that became one of the most important parts in "Ephialtes" which I'll reveal in "Fear" and Just like Taehyung, Jieun's character is also inspired by reality, not based on particular person but rather on psychological truths which some readers understood so well.

Some people have asked why I chose only Taehyung for this ff. Honestly, I wanted to write Jungkook book after finishing "His Crazy Woman" and he's my bias too ahm ahm but after giving it a lot of thought, I felt that Taehyung was more suitable than Jungkook in my opinion. I see Jungkook as more of a boyish type but definitely a tough guy but Taehyung's appearance is more manly and dominant, his looks are both attractive and intense which was the perfect reference for me to develop the character.

Right now, Ephialtes Taehyung is one of most controversial and hated character written by me but he’s also one of most loved and popular character written by me.

Anygays, I'm glad you liked my book, I know some people don’t but that’s okay. I don’t consider my work perfect either. I’m just thankful to those who support me and love my book and for those who don’t, all I can do is apologize.

Ephialtes journey was rollercoaster of emotions and one of greatest memory of my life.
