Emilia Beckett had always lived across from the Bridgertons. Her and her mother and three sisters. Emilia was the second oldest of the litter. Isabella being the oldest, Anastasia the third and Clementine the youngest. Her father had passed when she was very young, just after her youngest sister was born. Emilia's mother was had always been the sweetest and most nurturing mother in the Ton. People who weren't in any relation the the Becketts often called her mother.
Having grown up directly opposite the Bridgertons, naturally, all the Beckett girls grew close to the Bridgerton children. Emilia had met Benedict for the first time when she was just five. She had always know of him and his family and believed he would be arrogant because he was surrounded by such privilege. But this wasn't the case. He has always been sweet to Emilia and quickly became her best friend.
They bonded over their favourite books and Benedict loved to paint Emilia whenever she was willing to pose for long enough. When they got older, this never stopped. They continued to be best friends. Both families believed they would eventually profess their love for one another but it never happened.
However now that Emilia is 22, she must join society as a woman in looks for a husband. Will this affect the pairs friendship or will it become something more?
