It was a bright summers morning when Emilia woke the night after the ball. It was the usual morning with her sisters eating breakfast together, occasionally squabbling but that was not abnormal. Emilia peered put her window admiring the Bridgerton's home, wondering what Benedict was currently doing.

After being announced diamond of the season, Emilia had felt this overwhelming pressure that she must find a husband this season. She knew that as soon as she got downstairs that would be many suitors wishing to take her hand in marriage. But the problem was she knew all of the men in the Ton as she grew up with them and all the men she didn't know are old enough to marry her mother! She can't help but feel that she had already found her soulmate in Benedict but she would never know if it was reciprocated.

She continued to get dressed into a simple, yet elegant, gown to meet her suitors. As she wondered down the stairs she saw the long line of men waiting outside her living room, all of which ranging from tall to short, old to young.

First was William Supperton. He was about 35 which   Emilia considered too old but she would settle for if he was the one. From the moment he walked in Emilia could tell his head was far too up his ass for her to marry him.

"Good morning Miss Beckett. I am William Supperton" he said with a cocky smile, not physically greeting her in any way.

"Well it's nice to meet you Mr Supperton" Emilia said back, trying her best to put on a polite smile.

"I have come to see if you would be suited to be my wife. As I know what I want and you seem very physically appealing to me, good child bearing hips as well" he said, looking her up and down.

"Oh! Well aren't you here so you can prove that you will be a good husband for me, Mr Supperton?" Emilia said, already getting annoyed by his presence.

"Well I believe that giving you the privilege to marry into my family and take my name would be the best gift anyone could ever give you. I should not have to please you" Mr Supperton said in an dishonourable manor.

"Oh dear! Look at the time! I believe it is now for you to leave Mr Supperton." Emilia tried to say in a polite way but ended up coming out as a demand.

Mr Supperton left without another word but Emilia did not miss the dirty look he gave her on his way out.

Second was a man around the same age as Emilia. She recognised him, actually. But she couldn't quite put a finger on the name.

"Miss Beckett it's so lovely to see you! I'm Henry Appleton, remember?" Mr Appleton greeted kindly.

"Oh yes of course I remember you Henry! Wow I haven't seen you in years. And please call me Emilia, everyone does" Emilia expressed, happy to see a familiar face.

"So how is your mother and your sisters?" Henry asked with a genuine expression on his face.

"They're all well, thank you. You know I'm surprised you're here, Henry. I always believed you had an interest in my older sister?" Emilia asked.

"Oh yes well that was many years ago now. How is she anyway? Married?" Henry asked, his face going slightly pink.

"No she's not married. I believe she took quite a fancy to you also, she spoke about you all the time. We will be at the Bridgerton's ball tomorrow evening if you wish to reunite with her" Emilia suggested, a smile greeting her face as she imagined her sisters happiness when being reunited with her past crush.

"I will be there! Thank you so much Emilia! So great seeing you again!" Henry said, almost in a hurry to get out and celebrate his reunion.

Emilia watched as she walked out with a new spring in his step and she smiled.

Next walked in a very familiar face, one that she admires almost everyday.

"Benny? How did you get in here?" Emilia said, confused but nevertheless relieved to see his amongst all these strangers.

"I have been waiting for hours to see you. I'm very sorry I wasn't able to make it first in line. I attempted to bribe Mr Appleton for his spot but he wouldn't let go" Benedict said.

"I'm so relieved to see you! Mr Appleton was awful" Emilia said as she hugged him and rested her head on his chest.

" I'm not surprised. Let's get out of here." Benedict said as he held her.

"What? I can't! There's so many people waiting for me" Emilia exclaimed.

"I promise you there's nothing you haven't seen before, you deserve better than all these men." Benedict reassured her.

"Ok fine. But if my mother tells me off I'm blaming you!" Emilia said.

"Ok ok fine. She wouldn't get mad at me anyway, she loves me" Benedict expressed.

"I know she does! More than me sometimes." Emilia pouted.

"She can't help it, I'm irresistible. Now, I'm going to jump out the window and then you jump and I'll catch you" Benedict suggested.

"You better catch me! I trust you with my life but I'm not sure how reliable those muscles of yours are"

"They are very reliable. Do you not remember how many times I've had to carry you on my back after you've had a few too many champagnes at a ball" Benedict said, grinning at her.

"Yeah yeah whatever. Let's go!" Emilia said changing the subject,
