Benedict and Emilia decided to sneak out of the window of Emilia's living room. He jumped down first to ensure that Emilia would get down safely. However what he didn't realise was that he would step in a huge pile of mud, covering his shoes in the process."Eugh!" Benedict dramatically exclaimed.
"You're so daft sometimes Benny. I can't get down now this is a new dress! My mother would kill me if I got it muddy."
"It's fine, I'll catch you. Trust me" Benedict suggested.
Emilia couldn't help trusting him. He made her feel so safe. Her life could be in his hands and she would let her mess around with it all he liked. Her heart was already in his hands, it always had been.
"Ok, I trust you"
Emilia jumped and Benedict caught her by the waist, spinning her around and placing her down onto the clean, sage grass. She couldn't help but flush at the intimate touch.
"Ok let's go, I have something I want to show you" Benedict said, holding out his arm for Emilia to loop her arm around.
They continued to talk as Benedict lead her to where he wanted to take her. He talked to her about who she had considered marrying. She couldn't help but hear a slight tone of envy when she talked about all the men that had wanted to court her. He hated the thought of someone taking his best friend away, his angel.
"Here we are"
"Oh wow I completely forgot about this place!" Emilia exclaimed.
It was the swing that Emilia and Benedict used to spend hours playing on when they were growing up.
Emilia used to sit as he would sketch her for hours. However, now it had turned into more of a smoking area for the two."Wanna share a cigarette?" Benedict suggested.
"Of course"
It was Emilia's father that had got her into smoking at a young age. She always felt guilty for smoking in front of Benedict as she felt she inflicted his habit, no matter how many times he argued that it was his own doing.
"You know I've never felt at such peace than when I'm here with you, angel?" Benedict said
"I feel the same way. However it may just be the tobacco" Emilia and Benedict laughed together.
"What will I do when some old man marries you and takes you away from me?" Benedict said with a mellow tone in his voice.
"Oh no one could ever take me away from you. What will your family do when some beautiful young lady takes you away?" Emilia said.
"Nobody needs me" Benedict sighed
"I do"
She leant on his shoulder and they continued to talk comfort to each other until the sun began to go down and he walked her home, leaving her with a kiss on her temple.
