Redoing Life in Another World From Zero

Chapter 6

???: Good Morning!!!

...: Wha!

He was suddenly awoken by a loud greeting by someone who had also tried to pull the blanket off of him, however because he wrapped it around himself it caused him to fall flat on the floor contributing to his shock at being awoken.

???: I think that was a bit excessive.

???: Well I didn't know he was gonna fall on the floor! Are you okay by the way?

...: Ugh yeah I guess.

As he tried to get himself together on the floor he noticed the two talking to be Zach and Ada. He managed to get himself on his feet and looked around to see everyone was getting dressed and ready to go but the sun was barely even out yet.

...: What's going on?

Clyde: The bell went off signaling the time to get up but you slept through it.

...: This early?!

He hoped that it was some mistake but he suspected that they would actually be expected to wake up this early regularly. After getting fully awake he went to a bathroom to go get dressed when he realized something.

...: I don't have a toothbrush.

Not only that but he didn't have any of the basic hygiene products that people normally use. Despite not having the best hygiene when he was on Earth he would much rather acquire some sooner rather than later though he didn't exactly know how.

While he got dressed he also made sure to remember to use the hairpin that he had got yesterday. He had some trouble getting it on himself as he never used one like this and he didn't usually tie up his own hair but he managed to put it in a bun of sorts. After he finished he left the bathroom where he saw the others leaving.

Clyde: We have to be downstairs at the training area shortly.

...: How do you know the schedule already?

Clyde: Gilbart told me.

... felt a little annoyed that he wasn't caught up on what they were doing but it was good that at least somebody knew. He could see others heading down as well, most of them still looking tired. Compared to the start of yesterday the place felt more lively with more people around. Wondering when breakfast was, he made his way to the training area where people had begun to line up in front of Gilbart.

Ike: It's still sunrise and we have to train already? I hope this isn't a regular occurrence.

Zach: I'm sure we'll learn to get used to it.

...: What are we going to be doing though?

He went to go next to Zach and Ike in line where Gilbart was waiting for everyone to arrive with two swords at his waist.

???: Are we gonna learn how to fight with swords?

???: What about bows and shields?

???: Yeah we're gonna learn how to use all kinds of weapons right!

Gilbart: Sorry to betray your expectations but we won't be doing anything like that for a while.

After giving a response to a few asking him if they would be learning to become swordsmen everyone seemed disappointed.

Zach: How come? Aren't guards supposed to wield swords?

Speaking up was Zahc who had a question likely shared by many in the crowd.

Gilbart: It's true that you'll all be taught how to use swords and possibly other weapons but for now there is a problem with teaching you swordfighting.
