Beats Of Melancholy

It was the same summer morning; my band and I were practicing for a concert coming up soon! Our band's name was "Falling Star" our vocalist insisted on it a lot since she was obsessed with stars at the time. Our band members consisted of Ley short for Leya our drummer, Carmel our bassist (I always wonder to myself why his name sounds like a girl's kind of funny to be honest), Nico short for Nicolai our rhythm guitarist and vocalist, and me the lead guitarist. Today's practice seemed off because someone was playing off. It was the drummer, I asked Ley why she was not synced with Carmel. I looked at her face and her look told me something along the lines of "I broke up with my boyfriend", hopefully this wasn't the case. I got no response for what felt like forever until the rest began to notice we weren't playing and stopped as well.

She began to tear up a bit and Nico rushed to her almost bumping her guitar on Carmel's  bass. Remember how I said that hopefully a breakup wasn't the case? Well, it was, of course we had to stop the practice because we all know, a musician's emotions can affect their playing by a lot. I was pretty shocked when I heard this, why? It was because Ley and her boyfriend had a good relationship, why would they breakup? I thought they were a couple that was unstoppable.

We couldn't follow through with the practices for a week since Ley was going through it. All we could do to comfort her was through text because no one knew where she lived. Ley told us eventually where she lived and it was actually quite near to me, a 10-minute bike ride is all I need to get there. She told us her address because Nico bugged her for it because we wanted to comfort her and make sure she's happy. Although me and Ley weren't on good terms I agreed to go to her place to comfort her because she's still my friend and bandmate.
