Jason shot up. "Wha-" Alexander sighed. "I thought you were dead for sure." Jason was confused. "What?" He asked, in response Alexander looked at his friend. "Don't you remember?" Oh no. Jason did remember. He and Alexander had snuck out the night before to explore NymphKin Woods, and as soon as he saw someone his mother and father found him and Alexander.

Jason rubbed his eyes. "Did we talk to anyone?" His own mind answered his question just as he asked. No. No, they had not. "And we didn't even do anything fun, Alexander!" Jason sighed. He stood up and stretched.

"Actually," Alexander admitted, "I did something fun." Jason looked over to his friend, "Excuse me?" Jason questioned. "I found a sheet of paper on the forest floor and picked it up!" Alexander smiled. Jason couldn't believe what he heard nor completely process it. "A piece of paper?" Jason blinked, "finding a random single piece of paper isn't a fun thing to do!" He almost yelled loud enough for his mother and father down on the first floor, two floors away, to hear him.

Alexander stood up from Jason's bunk which she sat on. "That's not what I meant!" He said, putting his hands on his hips. "What did you mean?" Jason asked, rolling hsi sky blue eyes. Alexander took a deep breath and cleared his throat.

"So, I found the paper then I read what was on it! It said 'If you've found this, your life is about to change!' And then...a three headed crow landed on me!" Jason exhaled, he burst out laughing. "Three headed crows don't exist, Alexander! They were all killed during the burning of CrowSin! Two hundred years ago!" Alexander frowned, still persistent. "I saw one!" Alexander pointed to the bay window behind Jason's bed which held a pillow and three books, two Jason was reading and one Alexander was reading. "Look outside!"

Jason, doing as his best — and only – friend asked him to do, looked out the window. "Woah." Jason mumbled. He saw exactly what his friend described: a three headed crow flying around hopping from tree to tree. "No way!" His eyes widened. "Yes way!" Alexander said.

"Jason! Alexander!" Jason's mother yelled at the two boys. "Lunch!" Mrs. Witherleaf said. Alexander ran as fast as he could to get out of Jason's room. "Your mother makes the best food!" Jason followed his friend. He rolled his eyes. "I know, Alexander."

...

"Jason," His mother said, she seemed stressed, but she smiled. "I have a letter for you." Mrs. Witherleaf pulled a letter out of what seemed to be thin air. It probably was thin air since she was a skilled witch.

Meanwhile, Alexander was shoving pancakes into his mouth. Jason looked to Alexander then his mother and father. His mother slid the letter towards him. The letter had a golden wax seal. "What's this?" Jason asked. "A letter." Alexander responded, his mouth filled with food.

Jason rolled his eyes. "I know, Alexander." Jason turned the envelope around. It had his name written in brown ink. The cursive was impressive to Jason. Jason peeled the wax seal. He slowly pulled the letter inside out. It read:

Dear Jason WitherLeaf,

I am aware of your heritage, though, you may not. I have connected the dots quite well. You are the great grandson of Kei. Yes,Kei the goddess of shadows, darkness, and stars. This information has been hidden for many years, it has now been revealed, but with this you are the one first missing part. One of the most crucial parts of the Great Sphinx Prophecy.

The Great Sphinx Prophecy, as most have heard, is the prophecy in which two humans, a witch, a nymph and a half-god shall fight a counterpart of Zen. This is most likely a lot for a young boy like yourself, but I must say that the deadline for when the quest must start is June the twenty first.

Jason couldn't believe what he had read, and neither could Alexander who was reading over his shoulder. You see, today was the twentieth of June.
