Felix moaned a little as he felt something being draped over his shoulders. He heard the familiar sound of Amelia sighing and lifted his head from the paperwork it'd fallen onto.

Amelia was stood by his desk, watching him with uncertainty. Glancing at the emails on his computer screen, she guessed, "Nightwing had you up all night with his quest to find a catnip cure?"

"No.", Felix grumbled, rubbing his face to try and wake up a bit, "He had me up all night waiting for news on that damn trafficking ring."

"Oh?", She raised a brow a little, "There's news?"

After refreshing his emails, seeing no new ones, he answered, "No, there isn't." He leaned back in his desk chair and sighed, "I need you to arrange for travel to Taos. Get a small squad of some of my best men- ones that have kids...or at least know how to treat them. We'll head out in 30." He looked up at Amelia, who continued just to stare at him with this uncertain look. "Miss Knight.", he impatiently told her, "Squad of men, transport to Taos, departure in 30 minutes. Go."

Amelia crossed her arms, now looking at him sternly, "No."

Felix laughed a little in disbelief. "What?"

"I said no."

Felix got up to his feet, now looking down at her. "Need I remind you what happened to my last assistant?" Of course, he didn't mean that. "It'll serve you best to do as I say, Miss Knight-"

She continued to stand her ground, matching his expression as she retorted, "And I suppose I don't need to remind you what happened to my last boss either. Do I, sir?"

Felix's expression softened a little. He couldn't help but be a little amused at this sudden defiance. "Why the protest, Miss Knight? I thought you'd be happy to know I was actually making use of the men I pay for. It's been a while afterall."

"To go to Taos.", she narrowed her eyes a little, "Don't think I'm not aware of what you're doing, sir. Thanks to your sister's motion sickness, I've made it my business to know what's going on at STAR Labs- and it's always been my business to know what's going on with you. I'm starting to get familiar with this new you too, so don't think I'm oblivious to what you're really up to here."

"New me...", His smile vanished, "Implying the old me would be happy to stand by and let vulnerable children fall back into the hands of traffickers."

"You're not a hero.", She reminded.

He scoffed, "Well I'd like to think I'm not a fucking monster either."

"You're a villain."

"A villain who draws the line at child trafficking. We know this. We've already had this conversation before." He left his desk behind and walked towards the office door, "Rest assured if I can't get hold of the kids, I'll get hold of those targeting them. I'll be happy to remind everyone doubting my alignment just where I sit then."

Amelia watched him exit his office, letting out a final sigh as he left.
