Jeff felt mentally drained and emotionally exhausted as he recovered from the severe leg injury he had gotten weeks earlier. He had gotten the injury while in a match against Kurt Angle, halfway during the match when he was dropped on the mat at a diagonal angle he immediately knew something was wrong when he landed not only the sudden pain but also the position is leg was in knowing it wasn't broken but that it was definitely hurt in some way sliding out the ring and hopping backstage leading being in the ER finding out he had a pulled muscle and a fracture in his leg that would take eight weeks to heal, he felt frustrated that he had worked and trained hard to have this match in order to be considered for Unforgiven later in the year and now he would have to spend time he could be using to train and add some new moves to instead heal the muscle and fracture in his leg then slowly get back in training. So far it had been three weeks into his recovery and all he wanted to do was hit something and yell in anger, you had been by his side helping him recover ever since you had gone to the hospital after seeing him in his match knowing that he was hurt finding out just how bad it was in terms of the fracture icing and heating his leg for the muscle and after the first week had passed the muscle was better now focusing on the fracture, you wrap your arms around him stroking his hair as he laid his head on your shoulder trying not to just let tears flow "I know this is frustrating but you can't just throw it all away because of the time it takes to recover" he holds you in his arms as he slowly feels calmer, as time goes on he feels himself grow more motivated as the last few weeks pass by and slowly reconditioned himself and trains with Matt, Edge, and Christian smiling when he saw a text from you telling him to take it easy the first few weeks and when you had a hot shower ready for his sore body as soon as he walks in the door. He smiles whenever he hears your voice or sees you in the crowd during his matches back after recovering, he immediately lifts you in his arms after winning his match and knowing he was going to unforgiven which absolutely thrilled him knowing that the hard work finally would be paid off and he truly couldn't thank you for being by his side and keeping him from giving up during recovery of his injury "Thank you for not letting me give up" you knew from the bottom of your heart just how much he loved what he did and later on he would regret just throwing it all away because of an injury that needed time to recover "I know how much it means to you and I couldn't just let you give it up" those words right there made him melt and kiss you sweetly.
