Feeling hungry after roaming for a long time, Keerthi went to the food court. When she was standing near a line, she happened to see Vasan standing on the other line near the waffle counter.
Seeing him , Keerthi's face brightened like a flashlight and strode towards him.
"Vasan"
Vasan turned around to see Keerthi standing near him. But he did not give her the expected reaction and just said Hi.
"what???? don't you remember me? Why are you behaving so coldly like this?
Vasan looked at her for half a minute and then recognized her. "ohh I now remember you. That palkova girl?" he said and moved forward in the line. He looked at his phone and was typing something.
"Seriously? you forgot me? OK first why did you remove your details from matrimony site? "
He moved to the bill counter after checking and sending few messages from his phone, instead of answering her.
He ordered one strawberry cream cheese waffle and a triple chocolate waffle. Vasan paid the amount and received the token.Marching towards a vacant table he sat stretching his long legs. Keerthi too followed him and sat opposite to him.
"Vasan, at least tell me why you rejected me?"
When he was about to answer, he got a call and attended it. Humming yes, he cut the call. Keerthi was keenly observing his face and his features. Cutting the call, he spoke.
" I already told you the reason on the same day"
"pcch.. that's not enough for me. If needed we can wait for marriage. At least we could have Engagement first la?"
"Why don't you understand? We both are not a match."
"what not matching? even our names are perfect match. Keerthi Vasan. See how good and perfect it is"
"try to understand. "
"don't bother about status. I can convince my parents. They will not go against my wish. Just say ok na? I know you too have feelings for me. I can see that in your eyes."
Just then the waffles they ordered arrived. Vasan received the order and sat on the table opposite to Keerthi. He gave the strawberry flavoured waffle to her while he took the chocolate one.
"see, you have even ordered my favourite flavour in waffle. see the coordination we both have"
"I ordered it for my sister. But she said her stomach is full. Hence I am giving it to you"
"Oh is she here? I don't see her anyway around here" Keerthi searched .
"she is with Vijay doing shopping in the other floor"
"ohhh, ok, don't divert the topic, just agree that you love me and we can have a delayed marriage, if you need time. I can convince everyone on that"
"who told you I am in love with you?My heart is already taken by some other girl"
"you mean to say , you are in love?"
Vasan nodded his head firmly. Keerthi got agitated at his answer.
"love pandra moonji ya paru. Summa poi solladha man. unmaya sollu" (your face does not seem to show that you love someone. Don't lie. tell me the truth)
He got astonished at what she spoke. "I am seriously saying. I am in love with a girl" he stressed the word girl.
"how come you have time for this now? Don't you have commitments? In what way she is better than me?"
"Love happens unexpectedly. She is far more better than you. She is not over talkative like you.
She does not pester me like you with unnecessary and silly questions,does not question me whether I am a gay or not. She .." He was cut short.
Keerthi had tears dwelled up in her eyes. Still she does not want to showcase it to him. " I know you are wantedly trying to avoid me. "
"I am saying the truth. My girlfriend even went to an extent to risk her life for me. "
" even I risked my life to meet you and met with minor accident. I am waiting for you for past 1 year postponing all the proposals"
"How would I know that. But what I am saying is truth. I am already in love with other girl.If you still don't believe,see my call history. I just now spoke with my girlfriend"
He showed his mobile call history which was saved as "pattu kutty". Snatching the phone from him, she dialled her own number and gave a missed call.
Giving the phone back to him, Keerthi spoke" I will give you time till tomorrow evening. I will be waiting for a positive answer. This is my number. Call me and confirm it. If you are not calling me, I will take it as no"

She left the place without waiting for an answer. She informed her parents to return home booking a cab and left. That whole day, Keerthi did not talk with any one, nor ate her food properly.
