To say I was nervous is an understatement. Today is my first day at my new school, Padua High. And thankfully, my friends Kat and Mandella go there. I met them over the summer. And I know what you're thinking. Yes, Kat is known as being the shrew. So you'd think we'd not get along at all. But that's not the case. We actually get along very well.

Mandella looooves Shakespeare. And I mean love. It's funny to see how much she dots over him. I'm currently driving to school, the radio blasting, nodding my head to it with a huge smile on my face. Music is always a calming thing for me. About 15 minutes later, I arrive at school, parking next to Kat. I get out and walk over to her car, giving her a smile. If i didn't have Kat, i don't think i'd have any friends honestly. I'm not exactly a social butterfly.
She gave me a little humored smile like she honestly couldn't wait to get in there. I know the feeling.

"Ready for torture?" I laughed, shaking my head. Why of course. Who doesn't love a bit of torture?

"Totally." She grinned. But before I can go to class, I have to meet with the schools counselor, Ms. Perky. And apparently, she's pretty... out there. So this will be fun....

Walking into her office, I see her talking with a dark haired boy.  That's her....? Oh goodness. Please don't tell me I have to deal with her the whole school year...

"So, Cameron, 9 schools in 10 years. My my." Wow. That's got to be hard. I moved here because my mom got a job down at the local hospital. She's a doctor. She loves the town. So she took the job right away and we uprooted here. It's just my mom and I. My father left us when I was 8. My thoughts drifted away once I hear Ms. Perky say shit for brains everywhere. My eyes widened slightly. Am I really in the right place...? And how did she even get a job in a school?? I looked at Cameron, seeing the look on his face, almost laughing. I mean I'd help him out if I wasn't so traumatized. Yeah. That's the word for it.

"Am I in the right office?" I was just wondering the same thing to be honest. But Cameron jumped out of his seat, running into everything in the room. And just about knocked me down, when another guy came walking up next to me.
Cameron looked terrified of him. But I just stared at him. He had curly brown hair. And deep brown eyes. He's dreamy..... He saw me staring, giving me a little look as I simply grinned at him. Which apparently took him by surprise. So far, everyone is strange at this school. Not just the teachers apparently.
Miss Perky grinned at him like she knew him all too well which was the perfect sign of trouble. But my gosh. He's gorgeous.

"Patrick Verona. I see we're making our visits a weekly ritual." Patrick. Now I have a name to go for mr curly hair. Good! He simply smiled at her, a sarcastic smile. He loves this for sure.

"Only so we could have these moments together. Should I uh, hit the lights?" Oh my. He's Australian. He just got even hotter. Okay no. Be serious. Yeah right..... who am I kidding? I'm trying to hide a smile. But it's hard with this scene. It's like watching some soap where the teacher is always trying to bang the students or some crazy crap.

"Oooh very clever kangaroo boy." Kangaroo boy? Really? I wonder just how many times he's heard that one? She then looked down at a piece of paper, her eyes narrowed, humor in them.

"Says here you exposed yourself in the cafeteria?" I looked at Patrick wide eyed, trying so hard not to burst into laughter. This is so good...

"I was joking with the lunch lady, it was a bratwurst." What?? I mean, sounds like something I could see happening here.

"Bratwurst? Aren't we the optimist?" She looked down at him, not hiding the fact at all, grinning. Okay. She needs a counselor. Not us. Even Patrick looked at her slightly disgusted.

"Next time, keep it in your pouch. Okay?" Okay. That's my cue to leave...  But before I could, Patrick turned to look at me. I rolled my eyes slightly, shaking my head, a little grin coming to his face. I slowly turned around, about to go out with him, when she stopped me. I sighed. Damn it!

"Can I help you?" She gave me that smile. No lady. You need the help.

"I'm new here. My names Skye." She grinned a little, assessing me. Oh geez... Please don't lady.

"Well, hello Skye. Your eyes are just as blue as the sky. Haha!" I just stared at her. Is this lady for real? Or am I being pranked...? She picked up a few papers, practically throwing them at me, returning to her little laptop as my eyes widened. What a help she is.

"Here's your papers. Now I have to get back to my writing. Shoo." I instantly ran from the room, sighing a breath of relief. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. What an eventful morning....
