After three months, it was summer break. Mike and Will planned to kill Billy on the second day of summer, not to make anyone suspicious. They also had some plans for the first day of summer. It would only be them and no one else. The two boys knew that El was starting to catch on. Max even considered that Mike and Will were dating behind El's back and didn't say anything.

Obviously, Max was right about it. She was always right about anything. Her theories seemed more on the nose than what they actually are. But they convinced El that they weren't. Both boys had to hide it from her, even if Will just wanted to kiss Mike in front of her to prove that he was the one Mike wanted instead. They just had to hide it if they wanted to keep their cover story.

They were currently in Mike's basement. Max still being sceptical about the whole situation. She never recalled one moment where Mike and Will weren't together, excluding Mike's visits to El's house. She was sure that they were dating and she needed some proof that they did. What was only a few words against Mike's actions. He'd prove her wrong anyways, he always did.

But as of right now, Max and El were sitting together while Mike and Will were clearly flirting. Of course the redhead knew that Jane didn't know the difference between best friends and having a boyfriend or girlfriend. She only knew the things that Mike taught her about. Max knew that half of it was bullshit. Because what did she expect from Mike beside doing the predictable. With the audacity that he had to tell her that he was in love with her.

"Mike?" Max called his name.

"What, Mayfield?" Mike asked annoyed by the redhead, who cause nothing but trouble.

"What do you think about Jane's hair? Do you prefer it medium or long?" Max asked.

"I prefer it either way. She looks beautiful no matter what hairstyle she has. She fits all of them." Mike answered, in a honest tone.

Max mentally sighed. He knew how to lie. He knew how to lie good.

"Thanks Mike." Jane said with a soft smile.

"No problem, babe." Mike replied.

This was impossible. That was Mike's small charm that he had, he knew how to lie. Mike knew how to get Jane flustered. He knew her all too well and he knew what she liked to hear. That was the only way to keep up the charade. There were plenty of times where Jane wanted to break up with him, but he learned how to avoid those obstacles.

"I think I'm gonna go. It's getting late and Billy will probably freak if I stay out past ten...again." Max sighed.

"Bye, Max." Jane waved.

"Bye, Max. See you tomorrow." Lucas and Will said in unison.

"Goodbye, Mayfield." Mike said.

"What's up with her?" Will asked confused.

"She's been trying to figure out who the masked killers are. She said that she might consider thanking them." Lucas answered.

"She also said that she'll slap them across the face for killing Dustin." Jane added on.

"What's up with her and violence?" Mike asked.
