Chapter 1- Hangover
Chris opened his locker to see three love letters. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his golden locks. He grabbed all the letters and crumpled them up. Chris had no idea how this happened. He didn't ask for a life like this. All he did was play a sport and all of a sudden, he became popular. Now all he could do was mask his emotions and pretend to be someone he was not.
"Oh, Chris!"
Chris closed his locker, turning around to see a girl with long red hair. She had on a pink blouse and a white skirt.
"What do you want, Krista?" Chris tried not to sound annoyed, but to be honest, he hated Krista. Alright, maybe not hate but dislikes her.
Krista is captain of the cheerleading squad. She's pretty, flexible, and a total bitch. Of course, Chris wouldn't say that to her face. He tried not to glare at her with his puce eyes, but Krista just wouldn't take a hint. She'd been flirting with Chris almost every time they encountered.
"I was wondering if you're coming to my party tonight?" Krista fluttered her eyes and placed her hand on his shoulder.
Chris gently slapped her hand away. "Sorry but, I have work."
"Oh come on, Chris. Take a day off, come to the party, please," Krista begged.
Chris disliked Krista, but he loved to party, he just was not sure if it was safe to go to Krista's. He had gone once and he almost ended up in bed because of her! That was the last time he ever gone to one of Krista's parties. Chris would try to make an excuse or decline the offer, and just when he was about to decline...
"Don't worry, we'll be there."
Chris turned around to see Tony, his best friend, though he likes to be called T-bone because he thinks the name Tony makes him sound weak. Tony has a dark skin tone that makes him look african, but he's not, and he gets upset when he's mistaken for african. Tony's black shirt fit the color of his eyes, while his white shorts looked left out.
Chris gave Tony the 'why would you say that' kind of look, and Tony only smiled as he patted his back.
Krista smiled and ran her hand down Chris's arm. "I'm glad you're coming, I invited your whole team as well." Krista winked and walked away.
"Man, Krista's totally diggin' ya, ya know that?" Tony said.
"Shut up, I didn't ask for her attention. I didn't ask for any of this. I miss my quiet life, I miss my privacy," said Chris.
"Dude, ya need ta calm down 'n take a break. I get it, ya want nothin' to do with Krista. I'll be there for ya 'n make sure she doesn't force ya to bed again," Tony grinned.
"I sure hope so, Tony."
"Man, you're like the only one that calls me that, how many times do I need ta tell ya to call me T-bone?"
"Til the day I die."
Tony punched him in the shoulder as Chris chuckled, ruffling his black curly hair.0-0-0
Tony gave directions as Chris drove his black sports car. Tony loved the color and would usually take it for a spin. That is if Chris lets him.
"That's the place." Tony pointed to a small white house, still big enough for a family, that was packed with cars and people.
Chris parked his car across the street and tilted his head. He remembered Krista's house being bigger, but then again, he hadn't gone to Krista's house in two years. Chris stepped out of the driver seat as Tony stepped out of the passenger seat. They both walked up the steps to the wooden white door, swinging it open. Beyond the door was music, teens dancing, drinking and making out.
