Chapter 12- Come Back
After the carnival, Chris and Rhea decided to take a late night walk through the park. They had their fingers entwined as they strolled down the path lighted up by the streetlamps.
"What is your favorite animal?" Chris asked.
"Have you not seen my pet?"
"So your favorite animal is a cat."
"No, not just any cat. A savannah cat," said Rhea.
"Wait, Jet is a savannah cat? He looks nothing like one, his fur coat is black and he's so small."
"He's a black savannah cat. He may be small now, but he'll get bigger. Now then, What is your favorite hobbie?"
Chris smirked. "Hanging out with you."
Rhea blushed as she giggled. "I'm serious Chris, what do you like to do?"
"Fine, but that is one of my favorite hobbies. I like to play football, basketball, tennis, soccer..."
Rhea chuckled. "Ok Chris, I get it, you like to play sports, no need to list them all out. Now your turn to ask me a question."
Chris had suggested to play a game called 20 questions, so they could try and get to know each other more.
"Ok uh, what's your favorite color?" Chris asked.
Rhea answered, "Purple," then she asked Chris, "What's your favorite food."
Chris took some time to think. "Umm...? I actually... don't have a favorite food. I guess I like anything that looks good."
Rhea giggled. "Same here."
"Ok, what is your... favorite subject?"
Rhea grinned. "I think you know, it's biology."
Chris nodded. "Figures. Ok, then what's-"
"Hey hold on a minute!" Rhea interrupted Chris. "It's mine turn to ask you a question."
He smirked. "Alright then, ask away."
"Was I your first crush?" Rhea asked. Chris's smirk quickly turned to a frown. "I'm guessing from that frown I was not."
"No, I had this other crush back in third grade."
"Did you ever ask her out?"
"No, I was too scared and then someone else's asked her out, but luckily I fell in love with someone else, but again I was too afraid to ask her out, then in fifth grade I got this crush on a teacher which was not a crush, just admiration, and then in sixth grade I had this crush on a foreign exchange student, but I never got the chance to tell her my feelings, and then-"
"Ok, I'm gonna stop you right there," Rhea cut in. "New question. How many crushes did you have?"
"Uh... I-I don't know, maybe... six or um... eleven?"
"Eleven!?"
"Hey, I didn't know what love feels like until I met you," Chris said, and Rhea sighed. "You're... You're not gonna break up with me, right? I mean, they were just crushes, I-I didn't even asked them out, they mean nothing."
"Chris, calm down. I'm not gonna break up with you. What kind of person do you think I am?"
"I think you're a wonderful person." Chris titled her chin up and kissed her.
Rhea smiled into the kiss. "Thanks, I think you're a wonderful person too."
Chris was about to bring Rhea back into the kiss when he had this weird gut feeling. He raised his head to look over Rhea's head, then he looked behind his shoulder. He felt like someone watching them and he didn't like it.
