Chapter 9- Chris's Mother

Rhea's eyes fluttered open slowly. The first thing she noticed was a bare chest and how Chris was really close. Her body immediately tensed in response, startled at the supposed invasion of personal space. She had the slight urge to push Chris away. However, she found that she couldn't move her arms as she was in his tight embrace. She tried to wriggle her way out, but Chris had no plans on letting go as he tightened his grip. A squeak escaped from Rhea's lips as she was uncomfortably crushed against Chris's chest. Her face heated up in response.

"No... mine... soft..." Chris mumbled in his sleep as his brows creased slightly in a frown.

Obviously, Chris treated her as a pillow and was completely unwilling to give her up. Rhea breathlessly waited for Chris to at least loosen his grip. Thankfully, Chris fell back into a deep sleep and his embrace loosened enough for her to back away a bit so her face wasn't being crushed in his chest. Rhea let out a sigh and smiled, she had forgotten that she was staying with Chris. She carefully turned her head so she could see the digital clock on the desk beside the bed, and it said 5:02. She had woken up early and she had another hour before school started. Now that she thought about it, she hasn't even finished her study guide yet, and she'd missed work! Rhea really hoped Jess would forgive her and not fire her.

Rhea tried to wiggle out of Chris's arms again and she succeeded. Chris started to move his arms around the bed and Rhea took a pillow and let Chris wrap his arms around it like he did with her. Rhea smiled seeing how cute Chris was nuzzling into the pillow. Rhea decided to take a shower, so she went into the bathroom. It didn't take long for her to shower, she was only in for fifteen minutes, which gave her plenty of time left to finish her study guide. Once she was out of the tub, she found her neatly folded clothes near the sink. Rhea picked up her white shirt, happy to see that the blood didn't leave a stain. She really needed to buy some clothes if she was gonna live in this house. All her other clothes were back at her house and she was not planning to go back there ever again. She quickly got dressed, putting the white shirt over her head, pulled up her jeans and slipped her arms through the sleeves of her purple jacket. She grabbed a new toothbrush and brushed her teeth, and once she was done with everything Rhea walked out of the bathroom in her socks. She sat down at Chris's desk beside the bed and took out her work from her bag. She started from where she left off with Candace. Rhea hoped Candace finished her study guide since she wasn't able to help her yesterday.

Rhea was almost finished when Chris's alarm started beeping. She jumped out of the seat and ran to the other side of the bed just to turn it off. She let out a sigh of relief and heard Chris groaning. She looked towards the bed as he sat up. She blushed a bit remembering he was still shirtless.

Rhea cleared her throat and controlled her blush. "Good morning, Chris."

"Morning, Rhea," he said lazily. Chris then looked down to his arms to see a pillow, and looked back to meet Rhea's eyes. "Oh that's nice, just leave me with the pillow."

Rhea blushed and gave him a timid smile. "Sorry, you wouldn't let me go."

Chris jumped out of bed and as he walked to the bathroom, he asked Rhea to wake his brother up. If Rhea remembered, Zack's room was the one across from Chris's. Rhea walked out of the bedroom and knocked on the door.

"Zack?" Rhea called. When she got no reply, she knocked on the door again. "Zack wake up!"

"He won't wake up with that kind of knock," Chris said from behind.

"Well what of knock should I do?" Rhea asked as she crossed her arms.

"Let me show you, this kind of knock will wake anyone up."
