Chapter 4- It’s A Deal
Chris woke up with a big yawn, rubbing his eyes as he looked around his white bedroom. He dragged his body out of his warm blue bed into the bathroom and stretched. Once he finished fixing his hair and brushing his teeth, he went to his closet grabbing a blue button up shirt with blue baggy jeans. He walked out of his room to wake up his fourteen year old brother whose room was across from his.
Chris banged on the door. "Zack! Wake up! If you want me to drive you to school then you better be awake or else you're gonna have to ride the bus," Chris yelled.
He press his ear on the white wooden door, hearing a thump and many rushed footsteps, then he grinned. Chris walked away and went down the white carpet stairs to the kitchen. He placed two pieces of bread into the toaster and grabbed the milk carton from the fridge. The toaster made a ‘ding!’ sound and the toast popped out. He placed one toast on each plate, placing both on the table. Grabbing two glass cups, he heard footsteps thundering down the stairs into the kitchen.
"Morning, Zack," Chris said.
Zack stood near the doorway in his red t-shirt and black jeans. His hazel eyes half way opened with his light brown hair shooting out in every direction showing that he didn't bother to fix it up.
"Nice bed hair," Chris chuckled. "I'm sure your girlfriend will love the new look."
"Shut up," he mumbled as he tried to fix his hair. It looked better, but it's not in its usual side swept style.
Once they both finished breakfast, Chris drove Zack to his school before driving himself to his school. Chris walked to his locker, stuffing his black and yellow backpack inside and grabbing his books for history class. He walked down the hall and noticed Rhea up ahead. He perked up and was about to jog over to her when Krista got in the way."Hey, Chris. How's your morning?" She asked with a seductive smile.
"Kristaa," he held out the ending as he looked past Krista to see Rhea walking into Spanish class. Chris let out a sigh since he didn't get to say good morning to Rhea, but he could always talk to her during biology or lunch, or maybe after school if he got the chance.
"Chris, are you listening to me?" Krista snapped her fingers in front of Chris.
"Sorry, what'd you say?" Chris asked.
"I was asking if you want to come over to my house to help me study for that big biology test that Mr. Leathing announced when we turned in our projects. But if you don't want to study I can find things for us to do, if you know what I mean," Krista slyly said.
Chris could feel chills go down his spine. "Sorry, but I have work after school today." And that wasn’t a lie this time.
"Please Chris, I want to show my rival that I'm way smarter than she is, knowing that biology is her worst subject."
Krista was always trying to one up her rival, Candace Kindler. Candace and Krista are both popular girls, they were tied, no one knew who was more popular, so they are always at each other's throats.
Candace is also a bitch who was trying to get Chris's attention, but he was able to tolerate Candace for she was less bitchy than Krista. Also Candace didn't use so much physical contact, or flirting strategies like Krista did. Candace even gave Chris his space. He and Candace became good friends, just not great friends.
"Sorry Krista, but what's between you and Candace stays between you two. I don't want to get in the middle of it. But if you're looking for a tutor I know someone who can help."
"But I want you to tutor me, you can tutor this body all you like tonight." Krista bashed her eyelashes at Chris.
"Yeah, I'm gonna be late for history, see ya later Krista," Chris said, pushing past her.
