Grantaire pulled Enjolras closer to him, sighing. "I forgot; he did not tell like, any of you guys. I don't remember who he told though. . . I don't think I can-" Grantaire stammered and Joly shrugged.

"He'd be fine with it. We'd find out at some point," Combeferre muttered and Grantaire nodded.

"He's transgender. He's had top surgery and everything but he still has lower female genitalia," Grantaire explained and they nodded.

"Well why is the blanket covering his chest then?" Marius asked.

"Very observant, Pontmercy. Yeah, no I am not telling you that," Grantaire stated and they nodded.

"Fair enough."

Enjolras woke up and glanced at Grantaire, smiling. "Can you hang out with Joly and Jehan today? I need to do something. Actually, I might need Joly. Are you two really close? Does he know a lot about you?" Grantaire asked and Enjolras nodded.

"Okay, no. I need him, sorry," Grantaire apologised and Enjolras nodded.

"It's fine. I'll just read and stuff at home. How long will you be?" Enjolras asked and Grantaire furrowed his eyebrows.

"Depends. I'll call you when I'm done, okay?" He said and Enjolras nodded.

Enjolras stood up and walked into Bahorels room, getting dressed.

***
"So why are we here?" Combeferre asked and Grantaire sighed.

"I know it's probably too early but I really want to propose to Enjolras and I need your guys' help to find the perfect ring for him. You guys know him really well so you might be able to help," Grantaire mumbled and Jehan and Joly grinned.

"Th-that is the s-s-sweetest th-thing I've e-ever h-h-h-heard!" Joly exclaimed and Grantaire blushed.

"So, will you help?"

"Of course!" Combeferre said and Grantaire smiled.

They walked into the jewellery store and Grantaire walked to the rings. "His favourite colour is maroon," Grantaire said and they nodded.

"Will he want a pretty one or a simple one?" Grantaire asked.

"Simple but beautiful. Not something that will cause people to misgender him," Combeferre said and Grantaire nodded.

"Of course. Um, this?" Grantaire held one up and everybody nodded frantically. Grantaire smiled and looked at the price tag. "Shit," he murmured under his breath, setting it back down. "Why are rings so fucking expensive?"

Joly picked it up and looked at the price tag, smiling at Grantaire. "I-I've g-g-got it," he said and Grantaire smiled at him.

"Thanks, I owe you."

"Nah, it's f-f-fine," Joly insisted and walked to the counter.

***

Grantaire walked into his apartment, seeing Musichetta with Enjolras's head in her lap as she talked to him.

"Grantaire!" He said when he saw him and fell off the couch, crawling towards Grantaire.

"Hey, baby. What are you guys doing?" He asked and Musichetta stood up, fixing her dress.

"Nothing, I was just talking to him about stuff. You boys have fun with whatever," she said and hugged Enjolras before leaving.

"Let's go to the park," Grantaire said and put his arm around Enjolras's waist, leading him out the door.

***

Grantaire laid down on the grass and pulled Enjolras down onto him, kissing his head. "You know how much I love you, right?" Grantaire asked and Enjolras nodded, looking up at him.

"Your eyes are the prettiest," Grantaire whispered and Enjolras smiled.

"Your face is the prettiest," Enjolras replied and Grantaire kissed his forehead.

"I'm very nervous right now," Grantaire chuckled and lightly pushed Enjolras off him, getting on his knees. "So. I'm not good at speeches, but I really love you. I have since the day I met you, honestly. I can't tell you how much I love you. And I know we're too young and it's probably too early and you'll probably say no but," Grantaire got on one knee and pulled a box out.

"Grantaire," Enjolras breathed, covering his mouth.

"I was wondering, Alexandre Enjolras, will you marry me?" Grantaire asked and Enjolras nodded, hugging Grantaire. "Wow. You really do?" Enjolras nodded, pressing their lips together.

Grantaire moaned softly in surprise and kissed him back, running his hands down his back.

"I love you," Enjolras sighed and Grantaire leaned against a nearby tree, holding Enjolras in his arms.

"Why do your parents hate me?" Grantaire asked and Enjolras looked up at him, frowning.

"You're very. . . Outspoken. You say everything on your mind, wether because you feel like it or just to spite them, either way, they hate it. They don't want their baby to be taken away from them, either," Enjolras said Grantaire nodded.

"I wish my parents cared about me enough to do that," Grantaire mumbled and Enjolras nodded.

"Bahorel's will be your new parents," Enjolras said and Grantaire snorted.

"They wouldn't keep me. They're just helping me for now. Or, at least I think they are," he mumbled and Enjolras sighed.

"I think they'll like you. They did walk in on us fucking and just laughed it off. I think it'll be alright," Enjolras chuckled and Grantaire shrugged.

"Okay. We should get home soon, school tomorrow," Grantaire said and Enjolras nodded, standing up and stretching. Grantaire kissed him softly and took his hand.

He brought it to his lips, pressed them against Enjolras's hand, and scooped him up in his arms, carrying him down the street.

He set Enjolras down on his feet and stood on his tiptoes, kissed him, and watched him walk inside his house. Grantaire continued walking down the street, his hands in his pockets.

***
Grantaire was greeted at Bahorel's house with a big hug from Bahorel. Bahorel spun him around a few times before setting him down, grinning.

"What did he say?" He asked and Grantaire smiled sheepishly at the ground.

"Yes."

"Holy shit!" Bahorel yelled.

"Language," his mother scolded and walked over to Grantaire, hugging him.

"I'm so happy for you guys. Obviously, you should never get married this young, and I don't think you should have proposed so soon, but I'm really happy for you," she said and he smiled.

"Thanks, Mrs.-"

"Call me Angie," she said and he nodded.

"Sorry you had to see that thing earlier," he apologized and she chuckled.

"It's fine, I didn't see much. Our guest room is getting fixed -leak- so you can stay in Bahorel's room. And don't do anything funny!"
