"Aren't you supposed to be in school?" I asked, confused as to why Paul was leaning against Bella's truck.

"I skipped. Emily wants you to come over this weekend." Paul said,

"I thought I wasn't allowed." I crossed my arms, stopping a few feet in front of him.

"They care about you. They also know you...where's your sister?" Paul shrugged, looking behind me for Bella.

"She's coming. She doesn't move as fast as I do...I'll ask Charlie, but...I don't think I should be staying the night anywhere anytime soon." I said, looking at the school, watching for Bella.

"Artemis, you'd be staying with me. And my father will be out of town for a while. He's looking for work." Paul said, smirking at me as he came up to me, and ran his hand across the scars on my face.

"...Hey, Bells," I smiled softly at her as she approached us.

"Sorry..." she muttered before climbing into the truck.

"Need a lift?" I raised an eyebrow,

"I'm good. Just...come over this weekend," Paul said, giving me 'puppy' eyes.

"I'll see what I can do." I sighed,

~~~
"Thank God you're here!" Jared said as he threw the front door open.
"Move it. I get first hugs," Emily said, nudging Jared.
She wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. I hugged her back tightly.
"I'm glad you're still around, hungry?" Emily said, going to the kitchen.
"A bit, hi Kim." I smiled a little at her,
"...Would you really do stupid shit if Paul didn't stay with you?" Kim asked, blunt, as Sam and Paul came inside.
"Kim," Emily said in a warning tone, and she looked at Paul, who was glaring at her. But he wasn't shaking.
"I do stupid shit on a daily basis. Crazy shit that could get me killed, not that often...or on purpose." I shrugged,
Paul wrapped his arms around my waist, putting his chin on my shoulder.
"You're not allowed to do that," Paul said, placing a kiss on the scar on my cheek.
"Anything for you," I patted his cheek.
"Here. If it's difficult to eat, I can make you something else." Emily said, placing two sandwiches on the table.
"You cut the crust off." I smiled at her,
"Paul said you didn't like the crust of most bread." she smiled back, looking at Paul.
"I have work to do in a bit. I'll come pick you up later," Paul said, kissing my cheek again before leaving.
"Aww, you embarrassed him. See you ladies later!" Jared said, kissing Kim's forehead before leaving. Probably to tease Paul.
-
"Ready?" Paul asked, leaning in the doorway.
"Why don't you two stay the night?" Emily asked,
Emily had to bring Kim home earlier. Her parents didn't want her to spend a lot of time with Jared or Emily since Emily was older than her and Jared was...Jared. But, if I was willing to meet and talk with Kim's parents, and I'm over a lot, she might be able to be around longer, too, especially if I was willing to tutor her - and Jared and Paul.
"Because they deserve alone time when they can get it. Especially if she's going to be tutoring them." Sam said, kissing Emily's scars.
"Alright. Be safe!" Emily called after us,
Paul scooped me into his arms and carried me to his truck, my bike already in the back.
"You're excited," I smirked at him,
"I missed you. It was hell without you," he said, sitting me in the front seat. Buckling me up and tightening it.
"Paul. I'm not going anywhere. Not my time to die. I'll never stop fighting," I said, holding his face in my hands.
"Promise." He said, holding his pinkie out to me.
"Promise." I squeezed my pinkie with his.
"Thank you, Artemis," he smiled, closing the door and going to the driver's side.
"Of course, plus, I don't want to die either, so..." I shrugged, looking out the window.
"Not just that. For being you." Paul said as he backed out of Emily & Sam's driveway.
"Don't know how to be anyone else."
~~
These guys are ridiculous. They're also idiots. I've been coming to Emily's every day after school for two weeks now, I enjoyed hanging out with Kim and Emily. The boys worked a lot, so it was difficult tutoring them with limited time. Especially when they get frustrated and storm off.
"You look exhausted." Emily said, after the boys left, setting a cup of warm tea in front of me.
"Been having a difficult time sleeping. Plus, they're exhausting to tutor," I said, taking out my own homework.
"I appreciate you coming over every day." Kim said, getting up and hugging me, her head on top of mine.
"Of course. Next week it's going to be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday and Friday I'm going to be helping Embry, Jake and Quill. I can start coming over on the weekends." I said, putting my hand on her shoulder.
"Take your weekends to catch up on sleep, Sam and I can help them if they need it. You don't have to take care of everyone Artemis, make sure to take time for yourself." Emily said, grabbing my other hand and giving it a light squeeze.
"I know. I will," I squeezed her hand, giving her a soft smile.
