chriping filled the emptiness of her ears, her head pounded against her skull, making her face scrunch from the pain. she blinked quickly, adjusting to the bright rays from the sun. where was she?

her eyes shot open as she realized just what had happened and what she survived. she patted down her body, ensuring that life still belonged to her. a grin broke across her face, feeling victorious against the grip of death.

she slowly stood, pain rippling through her legs, causing a small yelp from her. blood covered her speckled grey leggings, along with the white hoodie nick had bought for her. tears welled in her eyes, a small smile spilling onto her face. she couldn't wait to visit her brother once again and feel his warm embrace.

tears in her clothes reminded her that she needed to retrieve a new set. gore surrounded her, not spotting a piece that laid untouched by blood or a sharp object. she searched every inch around her, tearing open carry-ons to find what she needed. along with a fresh set of clothes, she had discovered multiple items she needed for survival.

as she undressed, something metal and heavy fell from her pocket, clanking against the ground as it skittered away. her phone, of course! she pulled on her clothes before grabbing it, reaching for the power button. the screen stayed black, no matter how many ways she pressed it.

"dammit!" she yelled, slapping her hand against the side of it, trying to wake it up. nothing worked, no matter her effort. she sighed, dropping it to the floor.

a small backpack became filled with her necessary items, which she slung over her shoulders before walking out of the safety of the cabin for the first time. she quickly became acquainted with the warmth from the sun, kissing her skin all over. she sighed, pulling her hair back.

with more and more steps, she began traversing the thick forest, moss traveling up the lengths of trees and rocks. bright green grass filled gaps along the brown earth below, spreading from nature to nature. she had never been one for hiking or exploring, but the sights of the wilderness caught every sliver of her eye. she smelled the sweet scent of wildflowers, ones of all aromas blending into a haze of creation.

it had rained recently, with the way her shoe sunk into the ground, the soft earth squishing beneath her. mud soon covered her shoes as she continued to trudge through, taking in all of the wonders around her.

it was incredible, really, the way the tree tops meshed together and created a roof. the way grass and moss had filled in gaps over the earth. fallen trees became new homes for different critters, living in harmony and squeaking around.

she tried to look at everything, but the forest became so vast with action and energy, filling her full with amazement. who knew nature could be so intriguing? it all worked together like a web, moving in unison in the benefit of all creatures within. everything here had a purpose that it would fulfill, nothing went to waste.

as she continued to walk, her head snapped around, trying to take mental pictures of everything and look at as much stuff as possible. the whole of the forest captivated all of her senses, holding them in a chokehold. she stepped on branches and leaves, hearing the soft crunches and snaps from each one. birds called out to their mates above her, chirping and laughing. a sudden noise sounded behind her, quickly recognizing it to be running. she snapped her head around, becoming faced with nothing.

she quickly brushed of the worry before continuing to walk. a small huff left her lips as she debated whether or not leaving the plane was a good idea. her anxiety caught up to her as she juggled the pros and cons in her head. the hairs on the back of her neck raised as she felt goosebumps swarm her body. buzzing started to sound, beocming louder within seconds.
