Chapter 1: An unexpected friendship was born

It has been a week since Lin's mom passed away. She is experiencing a profound sense of loneliness, having lost the most important person in her life and her best friend. To gain a better understanding, she checked his Telegram profile and was surprised to discover that he was miles away from her. As their conversation deepened, Eun opened up about his life and residence. It turned out that he was born and raised in Korea, a country she had always wanted to visit and hold close to her heart. However, for the past three years, he had been living in the Edinburgh, specifically in Scotland, due to work.

During this period, Lin's marriage had already hit rock bottom, prompting her to make the difficult decision to end it. She needed to consider her future and the well-being of her children. The realization that she couldn't continue living a lie became evident. Her children had witnessed the worst in her, and she had even attempted suicide several times, only to be saved by him. She had initiated divorce proceedings and was awaiting the court order after their initial counselling hearing. Twenty years of marriage just vanished like that.

Lin felt comfortable chatting with Eun; he made her smile and helped alleviate her sorrows. For a brief moment, she felt at ease, and he managed to make her forget all the little things that had been bothering her. Day by day, Eun and Lin grew closer. He never failed to check on her, wishing her good night and good morning, even though their time zones were 7 hours apart. Eun was incredibly sweet, and their bond deepened, elevating their friendship to new heights.
