Luscious POV."I'm on my way to your kingdom," hisses Rufus from the other end of this horrid device.
He's pissed! He's been calling me nonstop for the last thirty minutes but other matters demanded my attention. Other matters being, my beloved Beretta. Lately, she has been taking over every aspect of my life by creating unnecessary issues, chaos seems to follow her wherever she goes. That's exactly why I decided that she would remain with me into I decided to end her permanently. Problems solved.
"I was under the impression that you were discharged to the kingdom of royal mutts," I respond with a smirk, further pissing him off. Which doesn't take much, just saying hi to Rufus will most likely ruffle his feathers.
He's a tortured soul. The epitome of impulsive, hence the short-tempered king.
"My presence seems to only further agitate the matter. I've killed five mutts since I've been here. Seneca has been ordered to come and smooth things over." He lowly growls, clearly annoyed with his actions. For the life of me, I have no clue why he was sent there in the first place.
We all know that he's the last king who would advocate for peace. Seneca or Marcellus would have been much better options if you asked me. They're both the more diplomatic of the lot of us. From what I've been told, Marcellus has other matters to attend. So, it makes perfect sense that Nicklaus would send Seneca instead of him.
"Very well, come blow off some steam," I sigh while running my fingers through my hair.
Out of all the other kings, Rufus and I have always been a little tighter. Mostly because of how closely we work with one another while guiding our military forces. Still, I'm a private man who values my own space. I'm not too fond of sharing my territory, which is already currently occupied by two other kings. Not saying that they are not welcome, in actuality they are here doing me a favor by helping out with the hunter problem.
It's just normally I have precious cargo to keep safe. Luckily, my daughter and her mother are on the other end of the world. So, for now, I'm cool.
Each king could join in on our End Hunter campaign for all I care.
"Say no more! According to the reports, that I've read over it appears that Nicklaus is handling the Tropical Region. Cyrus in the Rural Region, and you will be going to be in the Amazon Basin, so I'll meet your armed forces in the Mestizo Region."
Yes! My plan is flawless, divide and conquer. I wanted the End Hunter campaign to end as soon as it began. In addition, our separation will keep the other kings far away from Beretta and me while I have time to sort out her final arrangements.
It's a win-win situation for me all around the border.
"I'll tell Elijah to be expecting you. He's been assigned to cause havoc in that region. Once our tasks are complete we are expected to meet in Argentina," I advise.
"Back to Western civilization, we shall go," he mocks, before ending the call just as one of my soldiers by the name of Kassi greets me with a bow.
"Please rise," I immediately demand. She's not considered to be a friend but she is considered to be one of the few close acquaintances that I have.
"Sire, as always it's an honor," she praises with a smile. Sultry and dark, her choice to do a smoky eye shadow makes her deep-set brown eyes pop. It's an all-black affair and her dress is also perfect for the occasion. Her golden skin gleams underneath the satin material that clings to every inch of her slender frame and the deep slip serves her long legs justice. Her beauty is above average of the normal immortal but in my monster's eyes that's all she is, above average.
