CHAPTER 1 - A DIFFERENCE

AETHER'S POV -

8 years later...

"NO, STOP, STAY AWAY FROM ME..." Aether shouted, "Shut up brat, you'll pay for breaking my vase, that was literally so expensive and your blind ass had to break it!" Uncle Julian shouted, he was holding fists and getting ready to beat him, Aether couldn't fight because he was so scared of his uncle, Julian was about to punch his face until someone busted in and held Julian's wrist, "YOU B*TCH, LET GO OF ME!" Julian shouted, "You were trying to hurt my brother over something that was less important than him, you might wanna think twice before hitting someone." Lumine let go and shoved him, Julian got so angry and left their bedroom, "Thank you for saving me..." Aether said in relief, "Aether, you're gonna have to defend yourself at some point, I'm not gonna always have your back." Lumine said with a cold voice, she walked away to get food while Aether was feeling bad about himself because of not being able to fight back, but worst of all, Lumine changed a lot, after she found out our parents died, it felt like she lost herself, she became a lot more cold towards people.

A FEW MONTHS LATER

Me and Lumine finally get to go to a public school for the first time in a few years after being homeschooled, I tried looking my best for my first day, I also finally gained a bit of strength, not as strong as Lumine but I got the hang of it.

I finally arrived at school, it was very big, I looked around to see a whole lot of windows, and how mesmerizing it looked, I smiled and was ready to head in. I went inside the building to see how pretty it looked and admired the unique aesthetic, I was looking forward to it.

I arrived to my locker, and as I closed my locker, this guy leaned against his next to me which startled me because he came out of nowhere, I looked at him, he was tall, and pretty handsome, I started turning a little red, I took a deep breath so I could talk, "Um, hi, is there any reason why you approached me like that?" I asked, the guy chuckled, "Sorry, this is kinda the way I like to say hi when I see new people, I'm Aaron, I moved here from Hong Kong, what about you?" Aaron asked, "I'm sorry, but I don't like to inform people about my life." Aether said, "Sorry bud, I didn't try to get in your business, but do you wanna be friends though?" Aaron asked, "Um sure..." I answered, it was kinda weird but I went along with it.

A couple months we were actually close and then we started dating, we hung out, laughed, talked, and did each other's activities, but sometimes I found Aaron strange in a bad way, when someone approaches me and just talks to me about stuff, Aaron would go behind me and scare them off like they probably bullied me or something, he always told me that he's just tryna protect me from getting hurt, but I didn't seem like that...

One time I was talking to this girl named Ganyu, we didn't flirt or anything but we just talked and then Aaron came behind and yelled at her to stay away from me because he thought she was bullying me, Ganyu got terrified and walked away,

I had enough, "Aaron! What is wrong with you? Why are you being so possessive?" I asked, Aaron looked at me angrily, "Do you not see the way they're talking to you, they're probably gonna talk bad about you!" Aaron replied, "Aaron, that's not true, I know who I'm talking to, they're nice people," I replied, I held Aaron's 2 hands, "Aaron, I love you, I really do but you don't have to be very overprotective, I promise I'll be careful, just don't be possessive." I said, Aaron nodded his head and hugged me, "I'm sorry Aether, I was just scared of losing you." Aaron said, I said it's ok and we both made progress, but little did I know would I make the biggest mistake ever.
