We Must Leave

"There has to be something you can do." Cellbit and Bad were talking in the library, away from everyone."If there is a way to handle this without Roier dying, your mother would know. Yeah? So please, do something." Cellbit was on the verge of tears. He had been pushed to his limits while watching Roier squirm in pain.

"I...I don't know. My mother does her thing...I...she won't feel bad and there's no way I can convince her."

"You're scared of her." Cellbit accused.

"Well...yes, kind of..." Bad ran his hand through his hair nervously. "Look, I do have sort of an idea. But it's not guaranteed to save him."

"Please, anything. I will try anything, do anything."

"Well...what if we try giving him holy water to drink?"

"Does that...harm demons? I thought maybe it was a myth." Cellbit tilted his head.

"It doesn't harm us, it's like...a sedative. Some demons actually take it when they are frustrated to put themselves in a mediative state. If the spawn is sedated, we may have more time to figure out how to get it out without Roier dying."

"Ah, okay. We should do it immediately. Is there holy water here right now?"

"There may be some–" Bad jumped at a loud thump from above them. He looked at Cellbit, not saying anything. But they both ran upstairs in unison to make sure everything was okay. They both ran to the infirmary to check on Roier.

"Guapito, is everything okay?" Cellbit saw that Roier was still tucked in his bed. Regardless he quickly examined his body. "¿todo está bien?" {Is everything okay?}

Roier groaned quietly. He was on so much medication for the pain that he could barely lift his head.

"Está bien." Cellbit kissed him on the forehead. "Tenemos un plan. Haremos que esto sea mejor." {We have a plan, we will make this better.} Cellbit flinched when the thump happened again, followed be smaller thumps and things knocking over. His eyes widened. "Where the hell is Eggpire?"

Bad told Cellbit to stay with Roier while he ran out of the infirmary and straight towards the sounds. Straight towards his bedroom.

When Bad opened his door, his wings flared up with adrenaline. His tail dropped and the light in his eyes brightened. "Don't you dare!"

Eggpire stood causally. Her vines were twisted around all of Forever's limbs, locking him in place with no hope. One of her strongest vines was fascinated over his mouth so he had to cry quietly. "Angel, what are you going to do about it?"

Bad hissed and flew over, digging his claws into the vine over Forever's mouth. He was strong, but the vines were stronger. "Let him go!" The tension between the demons was so strong, it dimmed the lanterns. "He's not yours, he's MINE!"

"I've given it some thought...you are too good. We can't wait for a marriage contract. He has to die now. Hell knows you won't kill him yourself."

"Mother, no! I want to marry him, I want to give him a good life! Let go!" Bad continued to claw and pull at the vines around Forever. The vines tightened and Bad heard Forever lose whatever air he had left. "AH! HE CAN'T BREATHE! PLEASE!" Bad tried harder with no success.

"It's for your evil, Bad. This human is miserable anyway. It's more humane to kill him." Eggpire slithered a vine around Forever's neck.

Bad panicked. He knew she would kill him, like he was nothing. He would have to be drastic, match her crazy. "WAIT! Don't kill him...at least let me spawn with him. Then we can have two new demons, and I'll have his soul..."

Eggpire loosened her vines slightly, intrigued. "You want me to believe you can do that?"

"Well if I don't, you can just kill him after, right?"

"Mm...well I do like the idea of another demon. Now if only Roier could die faster. I've been hungry myself..." Eggpire slowly loosened her vines. "Tonight you spawn. If he's not incubating tomorrow morning, he's dead. I'm not playing games. You're a demon, you need to act like one."

Forever gasped and coughed, desperately grabbing for Bad as he kneeled down.

"Yes, okay. I've got it." Bad held Forever to help him feel stable. But he waited for Eggpire to slink into the shadows before hugging him loosely to give him room to breath. "I'm so sorry! I thought it would be okay to go for a minute. Oh my gosh." Bad was panting the same as Forever, adrenaline pumping from that whole scene. "Look at me, try to slow down your breathing." Bad pressed a hand against his chest, feeling Forever's rapid heartbeat.

Forever dug his nails into Bad's shoulders, his life still flashing before his eyes. He couldn't slow down his breathing if he wanted to. He gasped and sucked in air like he was still actively suffocating.

"Breathe slow, it's okay." Bad rubbed his chest. "breathe, breathe. Forever– You're going to have a heart attack. It's over now, you're okay." Forever turned just enough to throw up on the floor and not on Bad. "Oh- That's not good." Bad pat him on the back. "I forgot humans do that when they are too scared." Bad scooped Forever up like he was a feather, despite him being taller than Bad. He moved him to the bed. Then he noticed Skeppy was hiding under a pillow, shaking like a leaf. "Oh baby..." Bad lifted the pillow. "It's okay, you're okay." Bad picked Skeppy up and held him close. "You're both going to be okay, I'm going to take care of this...somehow."

-

Thankfully Forever didn't have a heart attack and die. He was eventually able to calm down, but he fell asleep with Skeppy on his chest. Bad was on the bed, playing with his hair. Things were quiet, he couldn't hear anything happening anywhere in the castle. So now he had to think about what he was going to do. Embarrassingly, Bad didn't know how to spawn. And he couldn't actually do that to Forever.

Bad watched Forever sleep. It wasn't peaceful. It was just his body refusing to be stressed anymore, making him pass out.

Foolish came in without knocking. "I know I'm late, but is everything okay?"

Bad didn't blame Foolish, he probably went to hide when he heard the commotion like all the other humans no doubt did.

"Is he..." Foolish gestured to Forever. "What happened?"

"Mother attacked him, but he's okay." Bad pressed a hand over Forever's stomach. "No spawn."

"G-good..." Foolish didn't do well in serious situations. He was more of a jester. Actually, that was his former job. He was a jester for the Capybara Kingdom. They called him the King Of The Capybaras, but it was just to make him feel special. The capybaras were in charge. "Everything is fucked up, man...I mean, Roier...just.. it's...God I don't know." Foolish rubbed his forehead. "I didn't think something like this would actually happen. I knew Eggpire was a bit fucked but..."

"We need to leave..." Bad said out loud but had been thinking it for awhile. "It's not safe, we have to leave tonight. Or she's going to kill Forever."

"It's not easy to leave your mother..." Foolish reminded him.

"I know but I think we can do it... we'll need plenty of help. Will you help?"

"Help, how?"

"Can you drive a carriage?"

"Yeah, I'm good with animals."

"Then please, get a carriage ready."

"The guards are going to catch me." Foolish huffed.

"That's why you have to be sneaky And park the carriage at the front. Etoiles is usually stationed there and he runs his guard group. If you tell him it's urgent for Forever's safety, he will keep the guards quiet."

"I...I don't know, Bad..." Foolish hesitated. He was scared of getting caught and being killed or– worse.

"Foolish, please!" Bad eyed Forever desperately. "She will kill him, please. I think I love him."
