Nominations

In the meeting...

"Lets begin then." says Mike, and I begrudgingly follow him outside.
"Good you could join us, Phoebe."
I look around to see Daniel and Mel sitting in the lounge, with a whiteboard, and paper set on a table.

"Soo, what's with the sudden meeting?"
"Well, we figured since the prom is coming up you and Daniel could run for queen and king."
"What? I've got no chance, with Kyle and Tanya running."
"Not nessisarily."
"Yes, we have been finding ideas for your campaign." Says Mel, showing me a tablet with a slideshow of images.

"Don't we have to get nominated first?"
"Yep, so Mike will vote for Daniel, you can back him up, and I will vote for you and Daniel will back you up."
"Right." I say sceptically.
"Right!" says Mel happily.

"So, what are your ideas?"
"Well I was thinking we could hand out Cupcakes or Cookies."
"Yeah, Cookies sound good."
"Perfect. So we just need to feed out a few rumours, and it's in the bag."
"Hold on a second!" I put up my hand.
"What?" asks Mike.
"What about you two?"
"What ABOUT you two?" Asks Daniel.

"Don't you guys want to get prom king and queen?"
"Ne, not really."
"Ne? Who are you?" Mike laughs.
"Melany Serena Blackthorn." she deadpanns.
"Yes, yes you are." laughs Mike.

We arrive at school and head into the assembly hall where the nominations are being held.
After the boys have gone, the teacher speaks up again.
"Would anyone like to nominate someone for prom queen?"
Immediatley hands go up. I didn't know the position was so popular.
By now, Tanya and six others have been nominated.

"I would like to nominate Phoebe."
Says Mel.
"I will second that!" says Daniel.
Tanya gives me a glare. I just grin.
"I would like to nominate Melany." I say, just as the teacher is writing down the last names.
Mel gives me a glare.

"I will second that." says a voice. I look around to find the source, but I can't find it. Strange....
"Great!" Says the teacher. Well, that'll be all then. You are dismissed."
"What the heck, Phoebe?! That wasn't part of the plan!"
"So? You deserve it."
She smiles. "thanks."
