Dylan looked around the house, noticing how cozy it was compared to the pizzeria. Her hands went into her pockets, her green eyes gazing about before they landed on Abby, Mike's little sister, sitting in front of the coffee table drawing, some cartoons playing as background noise. The blonde walked over towards the young brunette, and sat down a couple ways away from her. Her head tilted as the child drew. This really did remind her of Vanessa when she was Abby's age.
"Did you know Mike doesn't stop talking about you?" Dylan startled at the sudden voice of the brunette who continued to draw, the blonde looked over at her in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Dylan asked, Abby stopped drawing and looked up at the robot and smiled.
"He's never talked about a girl before," Abby admitted. Dylan feels she shouldn't be hearing this, but this had interested her.
"I don't understand." She said. Abby laughed, the sound making her think of the children at the restaurant. Her heart skipping a beat at the thought of him coming for her next.
"You're really clueless. Are all robots like that?" Abby asked, turning so she could face the robot in question. Dylan raised her brows in surprise. Had Mike told her that she was a robot?
"No. I just don't understand human emotions, it wasn't in my program." Dylan said. "My... Creator, never developed my emotions further, thought it was unnecessary. But I can stimulate what emotions are, and copy that of the person I'm with." I think. She thought the last bit, she wasn't sure how her emotions worked or regulated. He never explained that to her, but she knew how to copy other people's emotions and knew to be social. It worked well when the pizzeria was opened.
"Wow! That's so cool!" Abby exclaimed, looking at her with a bright stare. Dylan chuckled. Then she turned back around to her previous drawing and plucked it from the stack of paper, turning around she Placed the paper in front of Dylan. Looking down, the blonde saw that it was a picture of five familiar anthropomorphic animals, two people standing in the middle, and she could guess that was Abby and Mike, before her eyes landed on the shadowy figure with those black eyes in the back, staring at them, like this being was protecting them. It kind of creeped Dylan out a little. Hadn't she just seen the same figure outside a while ago? "Look! This one's ____!" Something in her system made her ears static at the mention of a name, one she could not remember. Something was blocking it.
"Oh." Dylan spoke after a beat, "this is really good Abby. You should ask Mike to hang it up on the fridge!" Dylan said.
"Actually. I wanted you to have it," Abby smiled at her. Dylan held the picture to her chest, the memories of the children always drawing her and the animatronics making her want to cry. She hasn't felt like this in years.
"Thank you very much Abby, I'll be sure to hang it up once I get back to the Pizzeria." Abby looked concerned at the mention of her going back to the pizzeria.
"You're going back?" She asked. Dylan gave a sad smile.
"Unfortunately yes, but do not worry, I'll be sure to visit again when Nessy isn't busy," she lied through her teeth. She knew this would be the last time she'd step foot outside of the pizzeria. Abby beamed up at her, the concern wearing off as she went back to drawing. Dylan frowned. She didn't want to lie, but it was a part of her program after all.
She jumped at the sound of the door opening, turning her attention to the wooden contraption she saw Mike enter the house, looking mildly annoyed. Abby looked over at Mike, giving him the stink eye, before going back to her current drawing. At seeing that, he sighed. Vanessa stood at the front, waving for Dylan to come along.
"Alright, I'll see ya later Abby," she said her goodbyes to the young child who gave her a grin. She walked by Mike and patted his shoulder. "See ya tonight partner," she joked. He grumbled and rolled his eyes, a hint of a smile on his lips. The piece of paper clutched in her hand, she left the house with a smile of her own.
Dylan shined her light over the disaster that was the restaurant, a shaky sigh leaving her lips. She didn't want to clean this up, but she had too, and hopefully Mike helps as well. Hearing the lock jingle, Dylan's eyes lit up. "Mike!" She exclaimed, going over to the door, to stop when she saw Abby standing next to her brother, smiling up at the robotic waitress. "Mike?" She question.
"My babysitter didn't pick up the phone, so I had to take Abby with. I hope you don't mind," Mike said sheepishly. Dylan shook her head and smiled gently down at the brunette.
"No, of course not, but you will need to be extra careful child, there is a lot of glass." Dylan spoke, as she led the two inside. Abby looked around.
"Whoa. What happened?" She asked as she stopped next to Dylan. The blonde grimaced at the remembrance of what happened earlier that day.
"Give me your hand." Mike said. Abby did as she was told, the two adults leading her to the office. Dylan helped Mike make a fort out of the table and chairs, putting old curtains with stars on them. Abby crawled underneath with her blanket and pillows, yawning as she did so. "Do you want us to turn the lights off?" Mike asked her. She shook her head, "okay. Good night." He said, standing up.
"Nighty night Abby," Dylan spoke, her face plates retracting and reattaching back which caused Abby to tiredly laugh. Dylan stood up, about ready to leave with Mike, when Abby's voice made its way to her ears.
"It's like camping." Mike stopped to stare at her. Dylan put a hand on his shoulder, he looked over at her as she gave him a smile.
"Come on dork, let's get this restaurant back into working order." She joked, leading Mike out into the hall, both of them dreading the clean up.
note: Dylan finally gets to meet Abby. She's such a mother I swear lol
