Mingi woke up to screams beside him. Yunho was no longer lying next to him; he sat with his face covered, letting out muffled sobs.

"Yunho?" Mingi sat beside him, giving a warm hug and gently stroking his head. "What happened? Bad dream?" He guessed the only reasonable explanation.

Yunho nodded slowly. "I dreamt the restaurant employee sought revenge on me. He pushed me into a ravine, and I fell. Mingi... I'm scared. What if it's a bad omen? I don't want to lose Kyunghwa."

"It's okay. Just a dream. Kyunghwa is fine, sleeping peacefully, waiting to come out healthy. Don't worry; it's not a bad sign. Dreams aren't always something to worry about. You've been thinking a lot about Kyunghwa lately, making you overly concerned about the future. Relax. I'll take care of you. No one will hurt you."

Yunho continued to cry despite Mingi's comforting words. He was still afraid, understandably so. So far, no nightmare had involved his Daughter, but even subconscious fears felt real when he imagined his baby gone. He released Mingi's embrace when suddenly, the pain in his belly returned. With the previous emotions, he couldn't think clearly.

"Mingi, it hurts. What if Kyunghwa—"

"No, Yunho. Breathe with me."

Mingi was panicking too but chose to hide it to prevent Yunho from getting more anxious. Holding Yunho's sweaty hand, Mingi guided him in regulating his breath, gently patting his head and offering encouraging words to help him forget the recent nightmare. After a few minutes, the pain subsided. Yunho looked calmer, though tears still streamed down his face.

"Let's go back to sleep, okay? Relax. You won't have another bad dream." With a hand on Yunho's stomach, Mingi lay down. He just lay there, eyes open, refusing to close them. It was half-past one—he glanced at the bedside clock— but his sleepiness was gone. Mingi preferred to stay awake, guarding Yunho and their unborn child, providing gentle touches to bring him peace. Certainly not with the terrifying dream he had just experienced.

"It was just a dream," Mingi tried to convince himself.
