"Yunho, I want to go camping."
As the days went by, Mingi's desire only confused Yunho further. How could he possibly want to go camping, bringing along Kyunghwa who was only four months old? Initially, he refused, of course. After all, how could he let Mingi go out late at night, sleep outside of their room, with various disturbances like low temperatures or mosquitoes that might come. However, once again, Mingi cried when Yunho refused his request.
"I just want to go camping. You're being stingy!"
"It's not like that, Mingi. But—"
And what followed was Mingi's sobs, drowning out Yunho's words. Whether he liked it or not, he had to follow along. Yunho had memorized Mingi's behavior during his pregnancy. Once he was disappointed and cried, his tears wouldn't stop until his desire was fulfilled.
So that evening, Yunho, Mingi, and Kyunghwa went camping spontaneously outdoors. Yunho suggested that Mingi just camp in the backyard. After all, it's still the outdoors. But Mingi really wanted to go into the forest. Yunho could still hear the sound of cars from where they were. It's just that he was still worried if something bad happened.
After nursing Kyunghwa and making sure she was wrapped in many warm blankets and thick clothes, Yunho began to set up his sleeping area, taking out the sleeping bag he had prepared beforehand.
"What's wrong?" Yunho asked, seeing Mingi looking anxious.
"I forgot to bring my sleeping bag. I was too rushed earlier, I thought I had put it in my bag. Turns out I didn't."
It was understandable, actually. This was a spontaneous plan, and the preparations they made were not exactly organized. There was no time to check items because Mingi wanted to leave quickly.
"It's okay, we can share mine." Yunho offered a solution, only to receive widened eyes from Mingi. "It's enough. Just relax."
Carefully, Mingi squeezed himself into Yunho's sleeping bag, snuggling his body slowly. It was tight. Although Yunho had become thinner now with all the work he did, one sleeping bag would still not fit two men who were not exactly small. Yunho's hand pulled Mingi's waist, hugging him gently to avoid pressing on his stomach too much. At first, he thought he could endure it, until he heard a painful sound. There was a tear in the sleeping bag they were wearing.
Hearing it, Mingi was once again overwhelmed with worry. He had expected this to be a problem. He should have checked his belongings first, so that nothing would be left behind. Now, Yunho would surely scold him. He was used to Yunho scolding him, whether it was yelling or even hitting him. But that was before. When they were still dating, or before they had a child. Now it's different. With his pregnancy condition, Mingi didn't have much chance to fight back. He felt intimidated.
Unlike Mingi, Yunho didn't mind this at all. After all, he had expected it beforehand. It wouldn't be okay with two people in one sleeping bag. The only thing he worried about was Mingi. Afraid that if the tear widened, he would get even colder, or even hurt for whatever reason.
"It's better to get closer, so it's more—Mingi?"
Yunho became even more panicked by Mingi who started to cry.
"Mingi? What's wrong?"
"It's my fault. I shouldn't have forgotten to bring my sleeping bag. Now yours is torn. I'm sorry."
Yunho had expected this reason. "Hey, I'm not blaming you. Besides, it's okay. This is not a problem." He hugged Mingi, gently stroking his back. It took time, until finally, Mingi stopped sobbing.
To avoid similar incidents later, Yunho chose to let Mingi sleep alone in his sleeping bag, while he only slept on the mat with his jacket as a blanket. It was cold, actually. He didn't bring socks either. The wind easily crept on his skin, occasionally making him shiver. But Yunho didn't mind. With one hand constantly stroking Mingi's head, he smiled at seeing his big baby had fallen asleep. Maybe tired from crying too. How cute.
