the snow fell in pretty little flakes through the air, landing on the pavement and any ledge it could find.
it was cold, and the sun had been going down for a bit- the boy sped up, the tip of his nose red underneath his mask, and feeling chilly, even if he was all bundled up under their layers of clothing.
it had been snowing early on this year, thankfully though, the fall was only light, nothing he hadn't been used to handling already. he clamped his hands together, trying to warm themself up, hoping to do a better job then their scarf and mittens were doing- and in the distance he saw a small wooden sign; white love.
letting out a sigh of relief they made their way to the cozy looking shop, it looked to actually be open unlike most of the other shops on this block, closing earlier for whatever reason they couldn't figure out.
with the lights still on in this one, it had to be open, and just as he got to the door, a worker on the other side flipped the open sign to closed, not seeing hongjoong till he looked up from locking the door.
the two made eye contact, one stared with uncertainty, probably not knowing what to do in this situation- he was clearly done for the day, but the other looked so cold and desperate for a warm cup of coffee.
the worker sighed, and unlocked the door for the white haired boy.
"oh my gosh, thank you so so much. it's fucking freezing out there." they panted, pulling his mask down and stepping inside to look around the shop, it's aesthetics were beyond belief, everything looked so pretty, soft, and delicate.
"right, of course." he said quietly, under his breath; he shut the door, keeping the sign still on 'closed' just in case anyone else wondered over here- he really was done for the day.
hongjoong turned back to the worker, eyes trailing down his face, taking in his pretty features, and the boys big, sparkling eyes. he looked vaguely familiar- the smell of coffee oozed from him, tugging at hongjoongs memory. his gaze dipped, down to his chest, just above where his heart would be, a small gold name tag- just before they could read it though, the other bowed slightly, face dusting a soft pink,
"welcome to white love."
hongjoong stared, amused, lips quirked up in a smirk; something that wasn't common from them.
'so this was the place huh?' he thought.
the taller stood back up, looking at him for a few seconds, eyes scanning hongjoong (he thought he was very pretty) before he turned to walk towards the counter.
"you're lucky i didn't turn off any of the machines yet." he mumbled, feeling a sense of comfort in the quiet cafe, (normally he didn't speak so much to customers since there were too many noises going on during the day), fixing his cream colored apron to lay flatter when he stood behind the register.
hongjoong snorted, "just you here?"
he hummed, nodding politely, "not hard to close by yourself here, though it's not common someone comes this late."
to hongjoong it had almost sounded like the boy was teasing him (he was). he nodded, and walked over to the counter, leaning up against it so they could stand on their tippy toes, he smiled- lopsided,
"glad i could bring some change into your week, then."
his name tag, shined, squinting; hongjoong read it aloud,
"seonghwa~"
the boy, seonghwa- blushed, eyes looking down at his tag, then back at hongjoong. he spoke airily, wiping what looked like whipped cream off his brow,
"so- what'll you like?"
