hongjoong found themself squished between san and wooyoung, unsure how the events of his day led him to this situation. somehow the two had been bickering about whatever nonsense they always fought over, mingi sitting across from them too caught up in whoever he was texting while hongjoong had to deal with the brunt of it all.
wooyoung had claimed the booth was big enough for the three of them, and urged hongjoong to sit in the middle since 'he didn't want san bothering him too much' and hongjoong regretted agreeing as soon as they sat down.
the four had found themselves at a small diner for lunch- they had decided to sleep in since they had been out late last night and it was a saturday now. at first hongjoong had thought that it was a good idea, going out to new places had always helped spark new interactions and new interactions meant new inspiration, yet now that he was stuck between these two they wanted nothing more than to go home and sleep.
"you know i'm sick of how whiny you are, woo." san said with a huff.
"whiny? i'm not whiny!"
"you are." mingi and hongjoong mumbled at the same time, though while mingis was mostly uninterested, hongjoongs was followed by a sigh.
wooyoung blushed, flustered- and he glared at san, "well... i'm sick of how-"
"oh my gosh will you two shut up? you're both obsessed with each other, we get it now get off me!" hongjoong groaned, struggling to pull his arms free from his sides. mingi tried his best to stifle a laugh, mumbling an apology when hongjoong glared at him. and thankfully wooyoung and san both apologized and scooted away.
"you two are giving me gray hairs. and i'm 23!"
"gray hairs already? that doesn't sound so good." a thick voice said from next to them, hongjoong hadn't noticed the new presence- the tall one at that. he turned, and looked at him with curiosity- lips pulled into a thin line and leg starting to bounce under the table. the man stood with his hands in the pockets of his trench coat, a grin strung across his lips, cheeky but friendly. hongjoong felt more at ease when san and wooyoung smiled back at the stranger, waving happily (he assumed they knew him).
though it shocked him when the man leaned down, tilting his head so it hung in front of mingis face (who had been staring down at the table with embarrassingly red cheeks),
