I yawned as I awoke, snow still gently falling but the storm seemingly ended. Storm was curled around me, using his thick fur and high natural body temp to keep me warm. The fire had gone out, and my Interface told me the Temperature was -2°c outside. Abbie came over, holding another spit of deer meat. After eating, we exited the shelter and continued our Journey through the woods, which were quite dark. I shivered, the Darkness giving me anxiety as much as the cold was getting to me. "Hey Abbie, were are we going anyway?"
"We are heading to Facility 9, a Facility dedicated to storing and Maintaining transport vehicles. Walking to the Center is not an option, as it would take us far too long for you to walk there." I sighed. "How much further is Facility 9? And will there be a change of clothes there?"
"If the Facility still functions, you should be able to wash your current outfit. A change of Clothes will have to wait until we reach Central Command." Well, it's better then nothing.

It was a few hours later that I got tired of walking. My gaze landed on Storm, noting that he was bigger then me by a decent amount. "Storm, buddy, think you can carry me for a bit?" Storm yipped happily, then crouched down and looked at me. He yipped, then gestured to his back before yipping again. I tossed my right leg over his back, then Storm stood up. Storm went to take a step, then paused and looked about warily. "Hostile Life form detected, Possible Bear Lineage. Caution." Abbie stated, her eye going red as she looked about. A roar split the air, then the ground shook. A whimper escaped Storm, then he bolted towards Facility 9. I held on tight, glancing over my shoulder just in time to see a giant bear T rex start storming after us. "New Life form Catalogued, Ursa Rex. Opening fire." The BRRRTTT of Abbie's gun sounded, and the Ursa Rex roared. I glanced back, then pulled out my PDS and shot at it. A bullet hit the creature in the eye, and It roared before retreating. "New individual recorded, One eye. Defining feature, a single working eye, the left eye having a bullet hole through it." A sigh of relief left me as the stomping subsided, and Storm slowed to a stop. "I am so glad you're a fast runer Storm. Who's a good boy? You are." Storm barked happily, his tail wagging happily. Now that we weren't in immediate danger, I could take a moment to appreciate how well Storm's back acted as a natural saddle. I could feel his muscles flexing between my legs as he moved, and his fur enclosed my legs in a warm blanket. Storm didn't even seem to notice my weight, as his speed remained consistent with his speed without me riding him. He also seemed to be enjoying having me ride him, and he seemed to be moving with a bit of pep in his step.

Night soon fell, but unfortunately there was no shelter between us and Facility 9. I pulled the hood of my Coat up, then draped myself over storms back and Buried my face into his fur. It was freezing, even with my coat covering as much of me as it could and Storm's fur covering what was still exposed as best it could. I then decided to unzip my coat and drape it over me, which gave it the extra area needed to cover both my entire body and some of Storm's. Storm noticably changed how he was walking, his steps being more measured to allow me to sleep without the fear of falling off. In my make shift moving shelter, the cold prevented me from truly drifting off, but a few minutes of sleep at a time did come. Storm's fur also seemed to be rapidly getting thicker as the night carried on. By the time day came, I had managed to get a collective 3 hours of sleep, yet it was so cold that I didn't want to leave the warmth of my Storm assisted coat. Still, Abbie eventually managed to coax me out with breakfast. A small camp sight was Established, with Storm acting as my seat due to the chilliness of the ground. I curled into myself as much as I could without hurting Storm as I ate, while Abbie did her best to figure out where we were. "Facility 9 is only 3 days ride away, although we can get there quicker if we don't stop. That course of action isn't recommended however, as the Temperatures last night were around -15°c. Analysis of the weather patterns indicate that Winter is coming, indicated by the lengthening nights and Storm's fur getting Thicker. I estimate that in a week the Night will be permanent. Transport will be the only way to get anywhere then, as Temperatures in the region are expected to hit -30°c. Permanent Human habitation in this region deemed Impossible. Next region is estimated to be a Temperate Region, with Temperatures as low as -2°c at night to a habitable 16°c during the day. More data can be aquired from Facility 9 should it still be functioning. Recommend continueing while we still have Daylight." I sighed, but nodded, then swung my leg over Storm's back as he stood up.
