Violet's pov

-Can you pass me the water please?

Violet asked, her eyes staring into the back of her father's head. She had been glaring at him for quite some time now, and he still failed to notice her frustration. She had never truly admired her dad, for several reasons. Firstly, because he wasn't able to admit to his mistakes half of the time, and he frequently seemed to lack sympathy for other people, unless of course they were part of his family. Secondly, because he had raised Henry to think that he was capable of things that were probably out of his reach. Like respect, for example.

Nonetheless, she was forced to admit that he was a good person, and maybe she was a little harsh, but you had to recognize that he wasn't perfect all the time.

-Is there something you'd like to talk about Violet?

He had finally awoken from his slumber.

- Yes, actually. , she forced out, her dark hair clouding her vision.

He appeared curious, and was not unlike the cheshire cat, his smile smug, frustratingly so, in fact.

-Well, Dad, I was just wondering why you didn't tell me or Henry that you liked guys.

He seemed startled, and all semblance of confidence vanished from his expression.

-I thought you knew.

-Oh, really? Because if I had known, maybe I wouldn't have gotten the shock of my life this morning when I saw you making out with a goth guy in the street. You'd think that something like that would be common information in this house, seeing as we are your family.

She stopped to take a breath. Her heart was racing, not having anticipated the rush that would come with confronting him.

-Also, maybe it would've made it slightly easier for me to tell you- that I'm bi.

He barely blinked at the last statement, but he seemed to have twitched when she mentioned the goth guy.

-Well, I really thought you knew, I am sorry. And I sort of knew you weren't straight when you forced me to watch shera and the princesses of power with you over and over as a preteen.

She could always tell when her father was lying. His eyes moved slightly to the left, and they didn't quite seem to match his mouth. He would never admit when he was wrong, and the goth instance seemed to be one of them.

-Well...thank you.

The rest of the dinner was rather awkward, but nonetheless Violet felt as though a weight had been lifted of her shoulders.

A/N : Hi, so this is a very short chapter, but I will make sure the next one is a more regular length. I decided not to include Blair's reaction because I don't think it's necessary to this particular plot point. Anyway, I hope that whoever's reading this has a nice day. Also FREE PALESTINE :)
